Simquad throttle

Featured Replies

Has anyone any experience, feedback or comments regarding Simquad throttles?I realise this should possibly be posted on the Hardware Forum, but I was really after feedback from NGX Drivers. Raised%20Eyebrow.gifhttp://www.simquads.com/

Nice piece of hardware. But at $850 probably a no-go for most of us.

I think I remember a forum user somewhere here discussing it. They said it took a really long time to ship. They are probably one-off custom made each order.

Yeah it takes around a month for them to build them, but he said it was totally worth the wait.. :)Best regardsJakob

Jakob,Have you made sure this TQ will work with the NGx?Sofar my research on interfacing hardware to the NGx has led me to believe we have to be very carefull as it might not be "a piece of cake" to get it working with the NGx.I have not researced this TQ so this is by no means indicating it can't be done. Just a friendly reminder to be very carefull

Well he said that he just plugged it in and configured it via FSUIPC, and it worked/works fine? :-) So yes I think it will work without any major issues. :-)

Well if you feel comfortable trusting this claim fine with me but i would be a bit cautious. For Axis i can see that happen. But who will deliver the mapping of the other TQ actions? (flaps/reverse trust/toga/parkingbreak/trim etc.)Bear in mind that the NGx is a beauty but without us knowing PMDG maybe had to do some very special things in the code to make it happen. These code parts are unknown to FSUIPC and simquads.Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't.The SDK might (but again no guarantees here, at least not from me :( ) might enable the use of this specific hardware part but who knows when this arrives? And even then it requires someone to create the driver/program/code or whatever is required to make it work. And who will that be? You? Simquads?I would at least explicitly agree on a refund policy should you not be able to get it to work. But then i am a contract manager and always a bit on the safe side.Let us know if you got it work please.

Hi Killerbee. :)well yeah that's true, but again he said, that everything works via FSUIPC.. So I don't know if he was lucky or something, but again I'm not any kind of a skilled tech person. :) So I am with you on the safe side.. hehe.I will just try to find the guy in here who said it worked fine. ;)EDIT:BTW his name in here is GregK. And he writes in mycockpit forums, that his works without any fault on the NGX, and he has done it all via FSUIPC.. :) hehe

Jakob,Be sure to ask for his fsuipc4.ini in that case also. And bear in mind that you might be required to merge your fsuipc4.ini changes into his one.But fair enough if he says it is working it probably is and he will have no problem granting you the 30 day return period

Well I wouldn't mind having one of those, but at $895 I'd much rather log another 6-7 hours of flight time.

Hey guys, I have had no issues at all with simquads. Its been a great purchase. I have it working perfectly with the NGX with minimal effort. You do need a registered copy of fsuipc and they do state that on their website. The only reason is for the reversers, and fuel cutoffs to work accordingly. Other than that you only use the main fs control section to assign the axis of each function. It took me a total of 5 minutes to have it up and running for the NGX. Doesnt get any better than that! There is nothing quite like havnig a set of throttles for the NGX, It sure adds to the experiance, personally for me I will never go back to anything else.Greg Keath

Hi Greg, Thx, again, for your input! :-) I'm still waiting for them to open up for new requests. :-) But I'm glad to hear that it works perfectly for you. ;-)
