Outputs to FSUIPC
I currently have all the outputs on my overhead working with the NGX thanks to Pete and his fsuipc 4.82 update. I am using FDS InterfaceIT SYS cards, doesnt get too much easier then that to get everything working. Just assign the offset to the led you want to light up, and just like magic it works! Greg Keath

Simquad throttle
Hey guys, I have had no issues at all with simquads. Its been a great purchase. I have it working perfectly with the NGX with minimal effort. You do need a registered copy of fsuipc and they do state that on their website. The only reason is for the reversers, and fuel cutoffs to work accordingly. Other than that you only use the main fs control section to assign the axis of each function. It took me a total of 5 minutes to have it up and running for the NGX. Doesnt get any better than that! There is nothing quite like havnig a set of throttles for the NGX, It sure adds to the experiance, personally for me I will never go back to anything else.Greg Keath

Looking for a TQ?
I actually had placed an order about a month and a bit ago and just recieved it. I purchased the 737ng TQ and Radio Box. You pay through paypal so if you do have an issue you can always go through them to sort out any issues. Its a very slick peice of kit, I gotta tell you. So easy to set up and get working with the NGX. The craftmanship and attention to detial is amazing for the price you pay. Looking at the jetmax stuff and I'm glad that I got mine from simquads. There are some small details with the jetmax stuff that just doesnt look quite right. Really it comes down to personal preferance. For the price you just cant beat it.I had also noticed that they state if there is a model that you dont see and would like them to build they are open to request's. Maybe a 747 or MD-11??Greg Keath

Building a Sim pit for the NGX. A few questions
I'm using 4 monitors and one projector at the moment. Sorry the picture quality is not so good. I took it with my phone. I currently dont have an overhead panel but I believe I have it sorted out. I'm using flight deck solutions for interfacing. I will be using fsuipc mouse macro's to flip switches along side with pro sim for annouciator logic. I have ran a few test's and it works very well. This project is low buget. I have made everything by hand, but if you have patience and drive it pays off in the end.Greg Keath

Building a Sim pit for the NGX. A few questions
This is what I have set up with the NGX. Works like a charm! There are a few choices out there to use with your sim pit but nothing is quite as good as the NGX.Greg Keath

GoFlight EFIS and MCP PRO Partial Interface
Hey Steve just did a quick test and its works like a charm! Not one issue with it at all.. The displays and lights work perfectly! Thank you so much for your hard work! Just one thing I did notice and I'm not sure if its somthing that cant be fixed until the sdk comes out. When I cut the power to the aircraft completely the display's are still lit up. I also realize that this is a beta version. That was the only thing that I could find that was worth mentioning. Thanks again! Cheers Greg

New Throttle
I'm just not at liberty to give out much info on it yet. All I'm saying is if your NOT in a rush for a TQ and your looking for other solutions, there is one but you just have to wait a bit. Thats all. Greg

New Throttle
I'm not with anybody, and Iike I said I cant say much about it at the moment but if your looking for a quad to go with the NGX then just hold off for a little bit and see for yourself when the time comes. Greg Keath

New Throttle
If your not in a big rush to get a TQ. Just wait a month or so. I cant really say much about it at the moment, but for about the price you would pay for the Throttletek you could get somthing much better! Greg Keath

Will the NGX simulate accurate braking distances?
Absolutley! I would suggest deverting to the alternate as well. I'm just curious if it is actually simulated. It would be nice to know that if for whatever reason I did land while exceeding limitations, would I have to pay the consequences for my actions? I did read the auto brake post and I guess thats what sparked this question. Would be nice to have to give a braking report for some poor braking durring a snow storm on vatsim! Greg Keath

Will the NGX simulate accurate braking distances?
Will the NGX simulate accurate braking distances with contaminated runways? I have noticed with other addons if I was to shoot an approach with a crosswind that exceedes landing limitations for a short, wet runway the aircraft seems to have no problem comming to a grinding halt. Is this a limitation within FSX? Or will this be somthing I will have to monitor and obey if it does exceed limitations? Greg Keath

Weight and Balance
I work in the weight and balance department for a RW airline that only operates NG's and I can say that potable water and catered food are calculated in the OEW. They are variable weights but for the most part the potable water is topped up before every flight as well as any galley items. The flight also is initialy planned with a weight buffer from dispatch to allow any variance in weight to a certain limit. In the case the potable water wasnt filled up or galley items added, there isnt enough weight variance to be of concern. We also do have the ability to change a few things on our end. Such as added life rafts for ETOPS flights or less flight attendants, ect. when everything is said and done with baggage, cargo, passangers, and fuel the captain receives a trim report that accurately reflects the weight on board the aircraft.Greg Keath

IRS align / APU start
I actully just talked to one of the chief pilots here at work. He said that high winds is somthing to be conscious about when aligning the IRU's. The aircaft "buffets" in the wind which doesnt allow a proper IRS alignment. Its noted in the flight ops manual as well regarding this issue. I dont have one on hand to quote to you. If these conditions are affecting the alignment the flight crew will position the aircraft into the wind to minimize the buffet and alow a proper alignment. Interesting side note. It is "leagal" to leave the IRU's in nav mode up to 25 hours from the time of alignment under certain conditions. The IRU's have to be fully re-aligned before any ETOPS flights. Granted that might not be every airlines SOP to leave them for 25 hours. Greg Keath

NGX RNP AR
Alan easy there fella! Its not that I was asking for a name or anything like that. I wasnt trying to poke and pry at somthing that is not my buisness. It was just a simple question and if PMDG doesnt release that information thats fair enough for me. Thanks Ryan for your reply are you at all able to say which airlines these pilots are from? If not I totally understand its compleatly out of curiosity. Greg Keath

NGX RNP AR
Rummor around the office is that a westjet pilot has been helping out with the majority of the FMC Programming. Can anyone from PMDG confirm weather or not this rummor is true? Greg Keath

Somthing for the future?
Sorry my bad Ryan I did not see the topic "What aircraft do we all wish PMDG would make?" Feel free to delete this topic. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.Greg

Somthing for the future?
I know you guys have a lot going on right now. Maybe somthing to think about, seeing how you seem to be on a turboprop kick. The Dornier 328 Would be a pretty sweet plane to have in the FSX hangar! Another one of those weird not frequently used planes. I do believe that even the FMC is pretty close to the jetstream 41 fmc which I'm sure would make designing a little easier and some what fast. Somthing to think about anyway!Greg
