I currently using 16GB DDR3 1600 (9-9-9-27) memory on my i7 2600k system. The BIOS for my motherboard has a 2133 MHz option for memory speed even though the box does not advertise supporting DDR3 2133. Would I get much better performance upgrading to DDR3 2133 in frame rates and load times even if the latencies are higher?

I doubt it. HOWEVER, my 2600k has significantly less stuttering with 2133 cas 9 than it did with 1600 cas 6. I run it with the frame rate limiter off and unlimited. Almost zero stutters.K

I do get stutters in the San Diego Area, mostly during final to KSAN. I have the frame rate limiter set to 30. I set it to 30 in FSX because I want a good balance of texture load performance and frame rate performance although I know unlimited gives me about 20% more fps but texture loading is too slow for my tastes at that point. I really could never get rid of the small stutters in that area. So you think that more memory bandwidth would lessen the stutters in that area?

I tried it. I did get better frame rates but texture load performance was too slow for my tastes and it wasn't as smooth as using the internal FSX frame rate limiiter. I also causes a few games to load much slower than without setting a limit, load times was proportional to the frame rate set in the limiter in those games.

Fast RAM + SSD should satisfy your concerns in both areas.

I so much agree to this.Using external limiter produces:- slower texture loading- more stuttersFor me, smoothest ride is also internal 30.

Hi Jayman,I would have agreed with you in times past. However any outside limiter, including the the new Nvidia built-in version causes me to have blurries. Instead I have limited frames internally to 35 and retain smooth clarity.Kind regards,

I had the same issue. Although, I usually lock my FPS internally to 40 when flying with G/A's.
