February 29, 201214 yr Have been giving flight a good test this evening. Some quick thoughts:The stearman was not something I was looking forward to, but the flight model seems pretty good. Not a bad plane, for free. The Hawaii pack is a great buy. I'm enjoying checking out the islands, which i know well from fsx. Way better scenery than my $100 payware-covered fsx hawaii, the cities aren't great (look a bit cartoon-like imho) but the airports and countryside are really impressive. My fsx fs dreamteam hawaii airports have more detail, but the graphics engine of flight just makes everything look smoother and more realistic on landing. Would love the airports to be 'alive' like fsx, but not for now i guess. You'd be crazy not to buy the Hawaii pack if you've got any interest in GA flying. The Vans is good fun, this was the one I was looking forward to flying. Yoke seems a bit sensitive and i haven't worked out if i can adjust this yet.The Maule is another one i wasn't really looking forward to flying, but i like the flight model and the cockpit. Having some trouble steering on the ground with my rudder pedals, but apart from that i'm glad i bougt this even though it's not so cheap. So the only thing i'm passing on is the p-51, as i've got zero interest in flying in external view.Recommendation: buy the hawaii pack asap, maule is worthwhile if you want a more traditional GA (taildragger).MS: i'd love a 'normal' ga aircraft to fly, bonanza would be great...get to work! :) Oz Sim Rig: MSI RTX3090 Suprim, an old, partly-melted Intel 9900K @ 5GHz+, Honeycomb Alpha, Thrustmaster TPR Rudder, Warthog HOTAS, Reverb G2, Prosim 737 cockpit. February 29, 201214 yr So the only thing i'm passing on is the p-51, as i've got zero interest in flying in external view.I'll probably use this for the 32K award, as nothing else will get me that far up. At least I'm hoping it'll get me to 32K??
February 29, 201214 yr Yes use it to get to 32k then dive towards the ground, should be able to then pass the supersonic award then too :)Thats what I did, its amazing what awards you can do in the mustang. Edited February 29, 201214 yr by ckukmale
February 29, 201214 yr Can you add the FSX Hawaii Addons to this? Can we import airplanes from FSX?I know this is too early... But if we can do that somehow, then that would be awesomeIf they have improved the core engine and if we can add stuff to it. then we can have the best of both worlds?:)Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
February 29, 201214 yr Author Ha, i didn't think i'd be in to awards, but just stayed up til 2am collecting some of the easy ones - pulled 12g in the vans, and the invert @120knots and 10 feet of altitude - sweet! What about the one for transporting 500,000 pax, or the one for mach 3...do you think this gives and idea of futur dlc plans? You can't even change liveries on the planes, until you do certain tasks, or reach certain levels. That's fine in the missions or challenges, but when I'm in free flight, I just want to fly the way I want without artificial restrictions!! February 29, 201214 yr One question, as you have already bought some things. Is the currently offered "dowloadable content" really a download, or does it only unlock a feature that was already installed with by the Flight setup tool?Christian

March 1, 201214 yr I've got more questions regarding the DLC.Is this tied to the gamer tag, or rather the PC for which it was purchased? So, can I use the same downloadable content purchase on my laptop and on my desktop PC, provided that I log in with the same gamer tag?Christian
March 1, 201214 yr It's tied to your Live account, so wherever you are signed on in Live will be the active install of Flight. Installing on more than one computer is fine, because you can't be signed on two systems at once, as far as I understand it all. I started Live with the beta, so my experience is limited.
March 2, 201214 yr Agreed $20 for Island pack/Flight is probably one of the best $20 I ever spent on a Flight Sim product. The cockpit shadows while flying are great, ground and runway textures impressive.Being able to get out and explore by walking is fun too.Super easy to install, no tweaking needed for great visuals, even on older hardware.Lots left to explore on the islands and looking forward to the next scenery release.
