You guys might try running Cpu-z in the background, then checking after a few minutes to see if there is obvious temperature spiking. Also, nothing in windows error reports?

i'm concerned as to why its only this game that has the issues? I can run mw3 on high with fully multiplayer group and crysis 2 on high... just not this one, not even on low.

just playing in single player on desktop that can run everything else in high video. turned vsync off and tried on low - crashed again after 5 min. giving up until patch released.
Wilkz07. Can You post the problem report here?Try this: On the "Search Programs and Files" paste this: "view all problem reports" (without quotations)Search for "Flight Application" and double click on the last dated one if present. That should open the problem report.Just copy and paste all content here (including the Bucket ID:); I will relay it to the beta site.CheersRamon

Ok Wilkz07I got this from a developer:

The last issue appears to be crashing due to an error creating some UI related textures. It looks like it is a pretty rare problem, and very few people are running into it. Based on what he is seeing it seems like an out of memory issue, but I really don't know why that would be happening. He should make sure to have the latest release drivers for his video card, and make sure not to run any 3rd party apps that may tweak graphics related settings. Also make sure the driver settings are on default and there are no manually overridden settings. If he continues to get crashes, make sure to send error reports on all of them and post the bucket ids as there may be more of a hint to the problem if it is crashing in different places each time.
Hope this helps you, and as he says, if you have more CDT's, please post them here.

great thanks. i'll double check but i'm pretty sure i'm all up todate, and don't run any graphics tweaking apps. I'll keep trying and may delete and reinstall just to be safe. will post the error reports here.

new one. all windows updates done. video driver updatedDescriptionFaulting Application Path: C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft GamesMicrosoft FlightFlight.exeProblem signatureProblem Event Name: APPCRASHApplication Name: Flight.exeApplication Version: 1.0.0.30016Application Timestamp: 4f28a36aFault Module Name: Flight.exeFault Module Version: 1.0.0.30016Fault Module Timestamp: 4f28a36aException Code: c0000005Exception Offset: 000d8fc9OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3Locale ID: 4105Additional Information 1: 9e27Additional Information 2: 9e2778096e7e1e2a2e0302fe58f3eea8Additional Information 3: 9e27Additional Information 4: 9e2778096e7e1e2a2e0302fe58f3eea8Extra information about the problemBucket ID: 2859424588 ran on high settings, vsync on. worked for about 15 min then froze up on map screen. will try again with vsync off but at least this report is listed.

I'm having a similar issue. However, I get no error messages, just straight to desktop. My rig is i7-950 at 4.2ghz/12mb RAM/GTX570 1280DDR5I'm running FSX well, as well as many other graphics intensive games...I've tried reducing all settings without success.Made it through first mission without any issues, my crash is always on the second mission, somewhere near the yacht.

Considering the post from Kabronicus, you might try removing one strip of memory at a time and trying to replicate the problem. If you have one strip, out of the several you probably have, malfunctioning, it will produce similar results.

@Gridley I have Flight installed on my Laptop and 2 PC's, Same problem with second mission; the solution I found on PC2 was to put Flight on windowed mode and turn off vsync. Both options are in Options->Graphics.Can you get the Problem report?
  1. Click on the Start button (vista / win7 only)
  2. Type “problem report”
    1. For Win7 you will want to select “View Problem Reports”
    2. For Vista you will want to select “Problem reports and solutions”>Problem History

[*]Find any reports that correspond to “Flight Application”

  1. You should be able to correspond the crash you encountered with the time / date of the report

@Old_As_Dirt Yes, that also works, especially on the laptop where the GPU was getting melted.Hope this helps:

Hi Folks, I find that Flight is running about 20 c degrees hotter than FSX - rough amount. I havent had any problems with shut down as yet, but I'm concerned about GPU life. Howard

the thing is, why do we need to make these adjustments to make the game run? I have a good gaming pc, why am i not able to run it on high in full screen mode, why do i need to run in windowed with vsync off and hope it doesn't crash? Why is there no patching going on?Having the same issue as Gridley now - game crashes to desktop without any 'windows encoutnered an error' and no error log is recorded. this is a bit ridiculous now.EDIT - New reinstall, no preview planes downloaded.I stand corrected. ran in windowed, medium, vsync off:DescriptionFaulting Application Path: C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft GamesMicrosoft FlightFlight.exeProblem signatureProblem Event Name: APPCRASHApplication Name: Flight.exeApplication Version: 1.0.0.30016Application Timestamp: 4f28a36aFault Module Name: Flight.exeFault Module Version: 1.0.0.30016Fault Module Timestamp: 4f28a36aException Code: c0000005Exception Offset: 00941e18OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3Locale ID: 4105Additional Information 1: 9e27Additional Information 2: 9e2778096e7e1e2a2e0302fe58f3eea8Additional Information 3: 9e27Additional Information 4: 9e2778096e7e1e2a2e0302fe58f3eea8Extra information about the problemBucket ID: 2859913087
