March 8, 201214 yr Windows 3.X was supported as a desktop OS until 2001 and as an embedded OS until late 2008, I wouldn't be too concerned about losing support for Windows 7 :)
March 8, 201214 yr If I wanted to install MS-DOS, Windows 3.1, and MSFS 5.1 today then their is no reason why not.......It is all sitting in storage ready to go with my trusty old 80486Microsoft won't be banging on anyones door because they still want to use software that is almost 20 years old now. Do what you want with it.The only thing missing today is the Compuserve GO FSFORUM, but I bet I could get that old 80486 onto AVSIM with some playing around.Cheers Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

March 9, 201214 yr I don't think MS-DOS or Win 3.1 would work with today's multi core processors!Nope, but that why I said I still have my old 80486DX sitting in storage. I will never throw that one out. Those old 486's with the math coprocessor where consistant, especially if you used them to create music. Very reliable machines.Cheers Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
