FMC and Load manager does not work

Featured Replies

HiI have just reinstalled my JS41 aftre a along time of no use of it. It installs seemingly ok but when I try to use the load manager whilst it comes on with shift 2 key press I cannot select anything. Also the click spot on the FMC face does not work and so can't open it that way. Seems as if the installation is corrupt in someway although it is a legitimate purchase.Wycliffe

Full names here please. If you suspect the installation try running the installer and selecting repair. The load manager is built into the clipboard on the left side your your seat, the FMC needs the on/off switch pressed to turn on (it loads turned off). Be sure you spend some time with the introduction literature.

My guess would be that you haven't granted yourself admin rights to the FSX directory, and you're not running FSX as an admin (Win7/Vista - if you're not using those OSs, ignore my comment).

I have read the literature. There is a clickspot on the FMC when clicked it will open it in a pop up window. This is working. The load manager opens using shift 2, once open whatever i click on doors, pylons etc they do not work.I have granted myself admin rights Ia m not a noob. Also You will only find one Wycliffe in the world of flight simulation, most people know who I am, but just for you.Wycliffe BarrettVATUK3 Membership Manager

No need to get upset about it. It's simply a forum rule.Furthermore, I didn't post that because I assumed you were a noob. You could have millions of hours in FS and have tutorials on how to shoot various approaches, and still not know how to set up UAC. I posted it because 90% of the time people report 'problems' with the programs, it's UAC intervening. I can't tell you how many times I've posted the granting admin rights steps and it solved the problem. Since you didn't specifically state that, I had to assume you hadn't done it. It's how troubleshooting goes.If you give me no information, I have nothing to work with and I have to start with the basics. Not reading the forum rules and not signing your name only reinforced my assumption to start at the base levels, no offense.

None taken. So where does this leave us with this issue.Just to reiterateThere is a clickspot on the FMC when clicked it will open it in a pop up window. This is not working and it does not open in the pop up.The load manager opens using shift 2, once open whatever i click on doors, pylons etc they do not work.Wycliffe Barrett

Try running the installer repair option with admin rights. Maybe the C++ runtime library isn't working, just guessing but the repair option isn't going to hurt anything.

Another thing to try, assuming that you are using "Acceleration", is to do a "repair" with the "Acceleration" installer, just to rule out any problems there.

And if you're not using Accelration, check SP2. The pop-up stuff doesn't work without SP2 (FSX SP2, not the one for the bird which doesn't exist, but has about 10,000 posts on it) in that bird. It doesn't sound like you have the problems associated with that problem, but trying to run through various known/past issues.
