Maule performance

Featured Replies

I`m not able to reach the 20.000ft service ceiling in the Maule. No matter what i do, can`t get over 16.500ft.With the Stearman i can go over 20.000ft but by the paper it should have 13.000ft service ceiling.Something wrong with me or the programming of the aircrafts in flight?

Four seconds from stand still at idle to liftoff with the stearman. I wonder what engine they have in there?I have uninstalled flight for now, need the harddrive space.

Hey Bugbyyy, it's absolutely possible in that airplane. Just check the facts on Google. I've seen it with my own eyes on a very hot and humid summer day at a field near sea level. The 180HP MX7 Maule is another one that is fascinating to watch do a short field takeoff. I've was sitting in one that started the roll and got off the ground just as we passed the second stripe on the runway. That is just about 300 feet for your reference. It felt like I counted to 3 and we were airborne, but it was probably closer to 5 seconds.

In the Maule try lowering the amount of fuel in your tank, and do it on a cold dry day (clear winter day) for maximum performance. I am supposing that Flight has air temperature/density in its flight modeling. Hot, humid air is less dense than cold dry air, and reduces thrust and lift. Hmm, probably doesn't get very cold in Hawaii though.http://www.aopa.org/...her/0307jw.html

Cold enough to snow.regards,Joe

Of course

Check your prop. You should be turning high rpm.And be sure your boost pumps are on.

Yes erverything checked. What is your max altitude with the maule?

The Maule, this new bird for me.I would suggest to MS to implement a stress crash because I like to do the missions without skipping to WPs but I always have speeds greater than 150 kts above all when descending I usually reach around 180 kts so I ignore her real limit. For the sake of fidelity I would like to have the above mentioned stress element. Then, even if not flying VORs and above all when some wind is present an A/P keeping the right altitude and course would help.I would also like to have greater scores if I apply the check lists. Is there perhaps a way to gauge the air temperature ?Then I also can't climb over 15-16k feet, maybe in the reality she can go higher I guess. Then a kind of Garmin would be appreciated above all when during mission you can't access the map and the weather is set on low visibility.

When not wearing oxygen masks or sitting in a pressurized cockpit, you are likely to start feeling the effects of low oxygen levels above 12'000 feet. For simulation style gameplay, don't go higher than 10'000 feet. If you do, find a belt and start choking yourself ^^
