Aerobatic scoring

Featured Replies

Having reached the Aerobatic missions in the RV-6 I'm impressed that the game can recognise manouvres at all, but have some reservations and am confused with the scoring.After a couple of attempts my scores were Manouvre Score45 down aileron roll 100 Half cuban eight 300Inside loop 300Hammerhead 500 Tailslide 400 Aileron roll 200Full cuban eight 800Snap Roll 400 Now my 45deg downwards roll was OK, much better than my hammerhead or tailslide (maybe they have a difficulty factor?).But I never got to do a full cuban or snap roll as I broke out of the box before then, so whose points were those :Nerd:Anyone else comment?The Fly-In before included a freestyle section, for me the game recognisedFly InvertedAileron rollVertical DiveStall But not loops or hammerheads. Spins always ended wetly (hint - climb higher than 1000 feet) so I can understand them being ignored.Didn't get time to try cubans or snap rolls. Will try tonight.I suspect there are some specific criteria to be met (eg rudder over at 40 kts in hammerhead, keeping the loop vertical etc)The 5 minute limit is a b****r, I kept just missing it...takes a surprisingly long time to land the RV.?????????Keith

Yeah, the first time I did some of the fly in aerobatics was the the Stearman, I could easily let the time get down to less than a minute an get it down quickly.That RV though man, first time I tried that, actually first couple of times, time expired before I could get the wheels on the runway - think I ended up having to start my landing procedure around the 1:20 mark...

Haven't been able to make the Snap Roll yet. Driving me nuts. Thinking you need a good set of foot pedals.

I have no problem staying inside the box but cannot do a snap roll with the mouse.I have got all 3 awards (red, green, blue ribbon) for the fly-in aerobatics and yes the timing is important. I do a lot of rolls and a loop while flying away from the runwayand more loops and rolls as I return to land with usually only seconds left to actually touchdown.Fred.

I got credit for some loops, but not for others. Don't know why that is, except they only give credit for 3 in a row, maybe.Hook

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

You can fit a lot of aeros into five mins in the Stearman, well, realistically about four minutes 20 really. Then just dive it at the runway and sideslip it down to kill a lot of speed for the landing. Make sure you alter the fuel load to minimal - that helps a lot.Al
