March 20, 201214 yr There is, unfortunately, someone who's only purpose seems to be to abuse the rating system. I've got more bullets (both positive and negative) in my gun though, so I can easily "negate" any undeserved negative "votes." That person (or persons) is wasting their time and effort. If you're going to do that, you might as well abolish the rating system. Don't know who voted him down originally, as it never occurred to me to do it when I read his post. Then he reminded me.Lots of people on The Sims 2 board got upset when someone voted them down. And people were encouraged to vote. The Sims 3 board doesn't have a rating system; I guess they learned their lesson.Just take the damned thing off.Hook Larry Hookins Oh! March 20, 201214 yr Commercial Member What your seeing is scripted objects, not AI. Basically those aircraft follow a designated path set by the mission builder. AI adapt to things, like they wont hit you on Taxi (at least should not) and try to avoid collisions in the air, that sort of thing. Also AI are typically interactive. If the AI is in approach, the ATC would still be able to wave him off. Scripted, once he's landing, there is no stopping him. Kevin Miller 3D Artist and developer
March 20, 201214 yr There do seem to be AI calls in the config files though, so keep your fingers crossed. Personally, I wouldn't be concerned about the lack of AI aircraft if the Flight multiplayer system only managed to put me into sessions with more than two users.I think if people stuck around a little longer instead of jumping out of the smaller lobbies immediately, they'd probably grow fairly quickly. I've seen over a dozen different players jump in and out of a small room in less than half an hour (most of them multiple times). If half of them had waited a few minutes, the room would have quadrupled in size. There are also ways to manipulate the matchmaking. As you encounter players you enjoy flying with or hate flying with, hit the Home key (or Guide button if you use a 360 gamepad) to bring up the Windows Live panel and find them in your recent players list. From there, you can "Prefer" a player, which increases the odds of you seeing them again, or "Avoid" a player, which significantly decreases your chances of seeing them randomly in the future. Sending players friend requests also positively influences your chance of seeing them again.
March 20, 201214 yr Commercial Member Im sure the team left lots of "hooks" in for the future. This product is about expandability for the long run, so its very modular. Its better to have these hooks in place from the start, then to force them in later on, much like the MSFS series did for some 20 years. Its much more efficient code that way.
