April 1, 201214 yr My Landings have improved somewhat. Mind the FD, it was not behaving that way on the actual approach. Please tell me what you think! Ben B. I5 at 2.9 ghz, 8gb of RAM, and GTX 560 Overclocked 1gb
April 1, 201214 yr Looked good to me. You could perhaps be a little smoother on your rolls, the first correction you made seemed a little 'snatched', make small, very smooth corrections and then wait to see what that does, but for manually staying on the glideslope it was very well done indeed.A useful thing to try, in order to line up a long way out, is to not simply aim for the distant runway, but instead look at it and then imagine it extends all the way out to where you currently are, by mentally drawing it on the landscape, then you simply line up right over where it would be if it extended out that far. Of course if there is a crosswind you might have to alter that technique a little bit, but you will find it gets you lined up perfectly a long way out.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
April 1, 201214 yr I agree with Al. I couldnt see what the crosswind was (if any), but you made some large corrections to begin with (or didnt do enough smaller corrections to begin with, and then had to make a large adjustment). I think you did pretty good over all, and you nailed the center line :) It did seem like you flared a bit high (6-7 degrees or so?), so Im not quite sure about your speeds and load. Were you a bit heavy? Andreas Stangenes http://www.youtube.com/user/krsans78 Add me on gamertag: Bullhorns78
April 1, 201214 yr It's not bad but there is certainly room for improvement . The whole approach wa flown to the left of the centreline until around 250ft you finally were centered. The nose was quite high on approach and very high on flare, that suggests a high landing weight, ie too much fuel, try landing with around 5000lb, or too low an approach vref or not enough flap, or a combo of all 3. Also, try and smoothly flare, the initial pitch jek is far too strong but th touchdown was nice, not sure what is going with the view at the end though, for a 2d view you shouldn't be looking down lik that after touchdown. Hope the tips help -Iain Watson-

April 1, 201214 yr Not bad. The most important thing is you touched down in the right place. You could have made the touch down a bit smoother though - part of the reason it was hard is because you let the nose drop during the flare, you should always raise the nose (not too high though or it'll float on past the touch down markers) and maintain the attitude until the wheels touch. April 1, 201214 yr I have a habit, on visual approaches, of lining up really well with the runway for most of the approach and not having to make large corrections, then somehow manage to end up way off of the centreline, with no crosswinds (that I know of)... so frustrating! I usually get pretty smooth touchdowns though. Practice practice practice
