Started Flight, new update?

Featured Replies

Hi there.

When I started Flight today, found a new update. My new wersion is 1.0.1.30023. After the install I was informed

that my settings for the controls was out of date. Hmmmm...I decided to update. Well, I use Saitek controls and

had to remap everything. Have not checked for any improvements in the "game", but think the clouds looks better....

Anyone notised something?

Regards

Goran

Interesting, have not started Flight yet this am...

Would be nice if they would document/or advise of what was included in the update.

Perhaps maybe some minor bug fixes, like the camera getting locked in an exterior view, etc...

yep. hope my stability issues were adressed. but in any case I would expect they inform what they did, let alone the fact that if they remote install something on my comp that I get informed beforehand like with any win7 update (unless of course I accept that updates are downloaded and installed automatically which I never accept since I want to know what is going on).

Is it me or is the joystick control a bit less jerky after the update?

That would be nice.

I have just applied the update, got the message my controllers were out of date and chose to update - it reset some of my controller mapping that I had redone in the menu, had to go in and change back to what I had it set to before. Have not flown with it yet...

Here is the way it worked for me upon launching Flight this am and initial observations - have not flown with it updated as of yet:

Got a message from Windows Live there was an update available for Flight , I could choose to update or cancel, if I cancel I would be signed out of Live.

I chose to update.

It then proceeded to start the udpate, then got a message I needed to close Flight to continue the update.

I closed Flight , then the update continued.

Once done, it relaunched Flight for me.

I immediately got an award, one that was problematic before - can't remember which one it was, but one that was listed as a bug for not getting.

I got a message my controllers were out of date, and I need to udpate - if I did not, I could lose some keymapping or something.

I chose to update, then went into the controller menu and noticed it had reset some of them to other than what I had - made the necessary changes.

I have noticed, the launching of the Flight program itself seems to be faster than what it was before.

Not just you, controller sensitivity has been adjusted and is much smoother, at least for the test flight I just did in the RV6.

Anyone tried track ir yet?

Ditto toe brakes?

Those would be updates I could get excited about.:-)

I'm pretty 100% sure it was graphic related. I haven't changed and graphics settings, all still at high... and I've noticed only while moving the camera around with my hat switch in cockpit or outside view, it's now a tiny bit choppy for me. So slight that it doesn't bother me so I'll leave my settings where they are.

Also not sure, but I landed at Kahului (IOGG)... (after picking up today's aerocache) and not sure if the scenery there is improved? Maybe I just never looked that closely before. Also noticed that the mountains in the far background actually looked quite good and detailed... so not sure if there was an improvement to the draw distance.
