April 3, 201214 yr Hello have been flying with Prepar 3d and finding it very good . every thing maxed and i set 4096 textures AA set in P3d , looks very good ,frames around average 40/50 ,.I have applied no tweaks using it as it came,I still seem to have the autogen loading as I fly (same as Fsx),but it is very smooth and the display faults I had with fsx are gone! ,If I start trying to tweak is there any thing to gain ,how much will using Nv inspector improve things ?,I am confused, I run a i2700k @4.6 ,asus 570 graphic card ,16 gb corsair ram. and it seems that poeple are stating at that spec no tweaking is required, yet others seem to tweak all the time regardless of system spec ,is this correct ,should I leave well alone or is there more to come for some tweaking (.I cant wait to get my iFly 737 into P3d thank you Ifly) Many thanks for reading peter
April 3, 201214 yr Hey Peter, If P3D is maxed out and your getting 40/50 FPS with a setting of 4096, don't touch anything!!! April 3, 201214 yr I fully agree with Mike on this one. I only use Affinitymask=14 in P3D so i have spare cpu cycles to run trackir. -Paul-
April 3, 201214 yr It's not possible. "Everything maxed out" means water at 7, all traffic at 100%, AG and SC at full, 4.5 LOD, 4096 textures - a 4.6 and a 570 - 40 to 50 fps - no way. Even over the desert. Sorry, I simply don't believe this. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
April 3, 201214 yr Yeah.. I mean Prepar3d runs phenomally. It is really a lot better (Even on an ATI card!) than FSX but it's not THAT good.. :Nerd: And Paul remember in Prepar3d they bumped up the LOD Radius max to 6.5 in the menus now (no cfg editing needed) and they also added bathymetry which lets you go underwater and they also added dynamic water surfaces. I just did test this though because well, I have nothing else to do. .. Every thing maxed out. Anything that could be ticked was, bloom and all and I was pulling 26-30 over empty desert. I then loaded up Seattle Tacoma (under Orbx SBSL) and pulled 9fps. Which all things considering isn't bad.. It wasn't even stuttering, just a slow motion drag.. April 4, 201214 yr Cheeeesh! I have to be careful - I could be persuaded to download it! I'm still on that fence. Y'know - the problem now is - the sale at HiFiSim - ActiveSky 2012, and the OrbX sale, the OrbX new releases, plus another (needed) Desktop Aviator analogue controller....... and a step-sons wedding.... us retired folk have only so much money to go around... the missus wants food on the table, too... i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
April 4, 201214 yr I am curious though, are you running 1.3 and not getting stutters? Bob Officially retired

First you must prioritize. I know you want em all, but you just need to figure out which one will put a smile on your face the longest. I can loan you the money until you get back on your feet after the wedding and all of that. If you have a Paypal I can help you out. I don't mind doing it for you. What are forum friends for anyway? And, after that, you can pay it forward. Great idea eh? Bob Bob Officially retired
April 5, 201214 yr So... hmmmmm.... somethin' fishy here... sounds a bit to me like you're a loan shark on the side, eh Bob? Yah! Great Idea! I have an original 1972 low-seat, 5-speed Triumph 'Bonneville" for sale.....Hmmmm? Offers? :LMAO: :LMAO: i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

April 6, 201214 yr Author Hello everybody, I have just read all the comments and now feel a bit daft ! ,I should have writter "all sliders maxed" Not everthing maxed Just going to sit in the corner facing the wall with a big D on my cap ,I cannot claim any real Fsx knowledge as you have now realised ! so please ignore any futer rambles ,,But just to clarify things I had a number of issues with FSX Ie 2 wedges on Lh side of sceen (these can be panned throu ) ,scenery not to sharp all over screen ,having to try to apply tweeks ?and thinking am I doing this correctly ! somebody says the tweaks work other say they dont ,one day sim would looked good /sharpish next day looks blurry and somehow diff ,it was not consistant in its performance, maybe all my fault its a very complex hobby ,with a Very Very big learning curve, enter p3d it just seems for me to work correctly ,no wedges ,sharp all over the screen ,no stuttering ,and a increased frame rate and 4096 textures which are easy to apply ,how P3d will perform if I can transfere my scenery/ aircraft over I dont know ,but at this moment Im happy .i flew Fsx last night and it was good to see those wedges again sorry for confusion caused just putting my dunces hat back on peter
