Howdy,If you slew down to the bottom "level", are you at sea level? If so, it's most likely a faulty add-on mesh. Are you using any one of Rob Gainer's add-on mesh files, particularly any of these ones?Alaska ( all versions )Seaor.zipNYC CityThey have those problems and, according to Rob, you're supposed to delete them. If not, how about any other add-on mesh files? Cheers, Holger

I just want to say thanks again for this great scenery, I am having a blast checking it out. Also thanks for the trip down memory lane, I did not remember that I was the first one to find an easter egg in your add on for Fly! as well, when I saw that on your site I almost died laughing. Well I am off to find some more eggs!!!!!!! Oh and by the way, please leave some pop for me next time or at least share what you are mixing it with! Thanks,Philip Olsonhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg

If you are seeing what I am seeing the hangars are textured Shane...might be a little on the light side but that's the way they look in reality...send me a screenshot if the prob persists.Ted CreaghFlight Ontario

I just got back from a week of being out of town and installed your new scenery. This is magnificent, the magnitude is tremendous, and you guys deserve huge awards and accolades! I can't imagine the amount of work that went into this-what a contribution to our hobby!I could go on and on but I want to get back to the scenery right now!I only beg on my knees that at some point you will drop a little more south to Detroit!Again-the greatest of thanks for this masterpiece!http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

Glad to see you like it.It was alot of work but well worth all the time spent. I believe I speek for all of our team.As for Detroit.I think we should leave that for someone who knows that area well.We have other intrest in Ontario that we wish to attend to.But thanks anyway.

This sounds like really great scenery but I'm totally confused with respect to the installation. It seems that half of the instructins are with the package and half are here. But nowhere can I find what to with the Dem file, and there are contradictory instructions on how to handle the water .bgl's. My apologies if I'm missing something, but is there a "finalized" installation file somewhere? Many thx!rgds, billg

I think the installation readme needs to be rewritten? From the screenshots it looks fantastic. However I can't find the "Ontariotexture.zip" file in either of the two downloads. There is a texture file but not of that name. Where there is a "ontarioscenery.zip". I haven't installed many sceneries so it's a little confusing. Any help would be apprecited. No doubt about it...Ronson2k

Ronson2k,Try clicking the link below or reading the thread top to bottom. We are hard at work putting together a patch which includes the new instructions, AFCAD additions and fixes, a new reworked Welland canal with new bridges and some more landclass areas.Soon!http://www.asic.ca/flightontario/jimlogo.gif

Sounds Great. I always wondered why there was no welland canal in the sim. Although I never thought of landing a float plane there?? LOL. I'm looking forward to seeing the landclass. I live in London Ontario. I do go to TO. quite often. No doubt about it...Ronson2k

Ronson, got the new installation instructions off your website. Works like a charm! I'm afraid to think about how many hours you must have put into this--it looks great. I've flown in and out of CYYZ hundreds of times (no, not as a pilot, as a passenger, argh) so it's right up my alley. Thx!Billg

Hi Ronson2k.Glad you asked about London.I have just finished re doing Fanshawe L coming into R15.Also the ponds at 401 and Highburry area.I really need to know what the water and vegatation is so I can fix the landclass around the ,now several lakes and ponds.Look forward to hearing from you.

Can't take credit for it it's Flight Team Ontario's scenery and updated intall instructions. I just had a hard time with the instructions when I first read them. I have it installed propery AFAIK. It looks really great. I don't know why MS thinks that we are all wilderness when there is no city. Before the new scenery if you went 1 mile out of London you would think your in the northern tundra of Manitoba. Hey we grow crops here.I have a few ideas for improvement beyond what I have to say about London. The skyway and lift bridge in Hamilton are great. I had a few relatives that lived in Stoney Creek and when I lived in TO. We were going over the lift bridge until they built the skyway. Traffic used to back up for miles on the QEW when the bridge was up. Not that it's alot better now LOL. Anyway. There are a few places you can get the traffic for the Great Lake Shipping including the Welland Canal. There is also a tutorial on how to get those ships moving. I don't know what the variety of ships are in MS but if there are any lakers there should be. Most of the ships on the system are bulk carriers not to many if any Cargo Container ships. Although there may be some in TO. I don't know??Site for Welland Traffic: http://www.greatlakes-seaway.com/R2/jsp/R2...=E&loc=VT00.jspAs to London's Vegitation and Hydrology there are a few sites thst should help out and I'm always about if you have any questions. Here are the sites. You may have already been to them but I'll put'm here anyway.Site one: http://www.globalairphotos.com/index.htmlThis site has aerial photos from aircraft (Low Level) they do sell them but you can look at them in a large format for free. They have several about 50 or so shots of London. In good resolution.Site two: http://toporama.cits.rncan.gc.ca/toporama_en.htmlThis site has topographic maps and orthographic aerial photos of nearly all of canada. You can move from one to the other. The photos and maps are free so long as you don't try to sell them. The photos aren't good enough for making textures with but you can definately use them for landclass. They also give you the co-ordinates right on the site so it should be pretty easy.Seeing as you like putting in dams and the like there are two in the city one at the exit of Fanshaw Lake and the other in Springbank Park. They are for erosion control and not for Hydro Generation but they are pretty substantial structures just the same. There are quite a few trees - It is the forest city after all. The downtown area is just east of the forks of the Thames. In the scenery there are a few buildings but nothing you would call a downtown. The Golf Course to the north of the airport is quite a cool surprise. Interesting story. In the early 90's GMD had a shipment of two locomotives they flew out on an Antinov. I saw it leave but they cleared out the golf course and most of the north end of the airport just incase the Antinov had to abort (That would have been a very bad day). The Lift set several records. The remaining order of Loco's went out by ship but they wanted to show off there new machines ASAP. They were destined for India. If you have any other questions feel free to e-mail.No doubt about [email protected]

Thanks for everything Ronson2k.These sits have been a real big help.Back to the drawing board.

  • 3 weeks later...

A late-comer.I just found this today, downloaded eagerly, installed and fixed as per the OntarioClass texture move to OntarioWaterClass, removal of convair1.bgl, etc.My system:AMD 2200+1 gb memory120 gb diskASUS V8420 deluxe 128mb video 56.55 drivers, AA off.FPS locked at 20.Sliders fairly well right, such that typical FPS in this area used to be pretty much 20 with the occasional dip into the smooth teens.Scenery cache removed before starting. With the new scenery enabled, the FPS varies widely from a low about 3 right up to the locked 20, no matter what is in view. Even sitting on the ramp, (stationary, view, clear weather, no aircraft in sight) the symptoms are the same... widely fluctuating FPS.It is severe enough that when the FPS go low, the sound will interrupt also. Not usable as is....Any ideas out there???
