April 10, 200422 yr Well, one Easter Egg down. The good looking Bass player of course is moi.Meet my semi retired rock band "KlasiK"We flew into YTZ for the gig and needed some mix, sorry.BTW, another Easter Egg hint can be found by visiting our oldFly!Ontario site: http://flyontario.cjb.net/The first two guesses don't count.http://www.asic.ca/flightontario/jimlogo.gif
April 10, 200422 yr Jim, I am enjoying the scenery big time!As to the water, I am going to try to re-install your water in a separate scenery folder.. it looked great while I had it!For now, I am flying all over the place and discovering lots of stuff, part of which I now understand was there all along, but I never saw it because my effects settings were on Medium. Thanks again for the helpful hints! Bert
April 10, 200422 yr I am obviously missing something, big time!. Your screen shots look great, Jim. I will tinker around as time permits and try to get the scenery looking as sharp on my rig as it does in your screenies...Shermbtw, pardon me for repeating the question, but has anyone experienced a CTD on an approach from the South around Buffalo?Sherm
April 10, 200422 yr Same here - Phew, I thought it was me.When I first loaded after installation I was in Winter and all seemed well (I started at CYYZ). However, I noted small stutters during climb out and while flying straight and level and this coincided with unusual intermittent HD activity. The worst was to come, however :(I switched to Summer to see the ground textures and it took an age to load. HD activity continued even after apparent scenery load completion, and when this happens you just know that 'Microsoft encountered an error' window is about to pop up...and it did :(Mike(And yes, I too spotted the mistake and made sure that I had:FS9/Addon Scenery/OntarioClass/scenery and a texture folder.)....and now......I will apply those fixes :)
April 11, 200422 yr jimi just landed on CYTZ rwy 33, the real one, an hour agoi was laughing all the way coming injust how right you got it all!:-)big thanks one more time!vilkps.east of CYTZ the corrected coastline ends at the beaches, right?no bluffers, nothing further... or am i missing some files?(asking coz in the west the coastline seems to go on and on)pps.the pepsi machinehas a letter-size sheet taped to it:"not working!":-lol
April 11, 200422 yr Hi Dave,as far as FS2004 is concerned, spring in Toronto starts on 17th of April :). Just set your sim to that date or later, and you'll have lovely green spring textures. Cheers,Gosta.http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2betateam.jpg
April 11, 200422 yr Thanks for wonderful scenery.can you tell me why this happen?http://www.startinmylife.com/fs/123.jpgground, water texture not shown.I made and install ontario waterclass folder too.which part of the scenery folder have this part?Jun
April 11, 200422 yr Did you download both parts?Part 2 has the ground textureshttp://www.asic.ca/flightontario/jimlogo.gif
April 11, 200422 yr Thanks for that post Jim.I had the same problem as Jun and was just going to ask for a fix but you provided it :-)I had extracted part 2 but just checking I saw the texture folder was empty apart from another texture folder so moved the textures to where they should be.However I still have a problem with textures near CYTZ.On approach to rwy 9 CYTZ there is a group of buildings on the left with what looks like a golf ball radar dome. This gruop of buildings have not texture anad the ground looks 'blocky', in fact the whole coast line around there looks blocky, any suggestions?TIA
April 11, 200422 yr If it doesn't lok like this you have a problem.http://www.asic.ca/flightontario/ontarioga...s/rockwood4.jpgThe building complex in the lefthand bottom corner is Ontario Place. They are white in real life.http://www.ontarioplace.com/en/cinesphere/index.htmhttp://www.asic.ca/flightontario/jimlogo.gif
April 11, 200422 yr Great scenery guy's :)You've done my hometown proud. How far north is the scenery supposed to go? From what I'm getting it fall's just south of the 401 @ the 404/DVP (which means my house is missing by a few km's). Oh well :)
April 11, 200422 yr Jim,Still having problems with terrain mesh. This is a jpg of CYYZ in my DEFAULT FS2004 setup WITHOUT the installation of Toronto. I thought someone here might have some idea what could be wrong with my mesh setup.Thanks!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/70989.jpg Al Kaupa Digital Storm purchased 8/17/2011; Win7x64: Asus P8P67 Deluxe; Intel i7 2600K@3,9 GHZ; nVidia GTX 560Ti; 8GB DDR3 1600 Corsair Dominator; Power Corsair HX 750W; Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD; 300GB WD VelociRaptor; 1TB Seagate.
April 11, 200422 yr TIA,....LOL.... that "golf ball" is actuallu "Ontario Place", a very popular amusement property built by the Ontario Govt. It's the "Cinesphere" with a capcity of around 3000 where 3d movies are shown. It's been around for ages. These structures are actually white in colour. I have installed FS Genesis terrain for all of US and Canada and I agree with you re: the "blocky" textures. They are not up to par with FS Genesis' scenery. But I really am impressed by the the job Flight Ontario have done with the scenerylandmarks and airports! April 11, 200422 yr Thanks for the explanation of the 'golf ball' Jim.Attached is a screen shot from 2,000ft of Ontario place showing the coast line. Could you advise if that looks right or do I have a setting or texture wrong?Thanks.http://homepage.ntlworld.com/avroe_xh558/O...io%20Place1.jpg
April 11, 200422 yr Yes, it sits in the water.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/71044.jpgPlease, I beg of you, turn the crappy water reflectivity OFF. The scenery was not designed for it. MHO, of course.http://www.asic.ca/flightontario/jimlogo.gif
