can't swap frequencies... !

Featured Replies

I am losing slowly the will to live... help !

I thought I had found a way to swap frequencies yesterday, but this time I can't. It is so unclear and so imprecise, it makes it very difficult to fly properly.

Also the PFD suddenly played up, see pic.

Any help here is welcome, thanks !

There is a toggle switch in the upper right section of the radio to swap frequencies,

but I do not see it in your picture..

The PFD is showing it's startup screen..

Thanks for that, I have to say that SP1 cured the frequency stand-by/activation thingie. As for the PFD, it goes like this after a while, I switch avionics on and off and it comes back after a while...

Same thing happened to my PFD on the last flight. I am running on SP1 now and this did not happen before on dozenz of flights.

Curly, may I suggest you raise this point with V1VrV2 in his post:

List of Outstanding Bugs/Issues

as he's still compiling issues to address after SP1

I never had the original release, only purchased after SP1 was incorporated into the download. I had this PFD issue the first time I selected the C90 for a flight. It stayed on the startup screen and never fully initialized. I did about a half hour of ground cockpit familiarization. For my following flights it has initialized and stayed normal.

Yep, I getting it to and didn't have it before SP1....

Have any of you installed the RXP GNS 430 into your panel, and are you seeing the frequencies flicker (that is, when you attempt to change them, do they change and then return to the previously selected frequency)?

Do you mean when you adjust and swap the frequency on the Collins Radios?

If so, for me, NO..

Hmmm! My C90 is only 3 days old and was acquired after SP1 integration. I do have the RXP GNS 430 installed into the panel. Since then I have experienced what I thought was a random condition where my mouse pointer starts flickering rapidly between a pointer and hourglass. It's a bit annoying to have it happen in mid-flight and I've found no way out. I have been able to continue flying. It has only happened during the past couple of days and the C80 is all I have flown. I have failed to notice what might be triggering it. Will have to watch carefully to see. Almost as recently I also made a comprehensive change in my flight control devices.

There's a config setting that may help. In your Carenado C90 King Air folder (under FSX/SimObjects/aircraft), open the RXPGNS.ini with Notepad and look for the RadioSyncMode line. Change the value so that it looks like this:

RadioSyncMode=ToGns

That will allow you to set comm1 and nav1 frequencies on the Collins radio heads without any conflict coming from the RXP GNS430. The trade-off is that you won't be able to use the GNS430 to set frequencies any more. (You can set it up the other way, so that you can set nav/comm1 freqs in the GNS unit, but then you can't make changes with the Collins units. I find it easier to do it the way I described.)

I also experienced the PFD/EADI failure for the first time after about two hours into a 3 hour flight.
