Question for HAF 932 Owners

Featured Replies

I will soon be building a new computer. It looks like the Cooler Master HAF 932 seems to be a favorite for computer home builds. My only concern is that this case has no dust filters? How much of a dust magnet is the case and is this something that I really should be concerned about?

To clean the dust accumulation, would I simply vacuum the exterior of the fans…or would I also have to vacuum the inside of the case also?

It's moving a lot of air through, so there's probably a bit more than average dust accumulation...but not dramatically so.

The side of the case is very easy to remove--I use 30 PSI compressed air to blow mine out every 3-4 months or so (with a vacuum cleaner nozzle held on the back side to catch as much of the blow-off as possible.

It's not a big deal if you're doing routine basic maintenance.

I have HAF 932, and yes, it accumulates dust although IMO it is not that bad as you would actually think it may be. Good ventilation of the case means that most of the dust that comes in is also blown out. Dust accumulates mostly on fan blades and grilles, but on case floor and structures, or on addon cards I get actually very little dust. I don't even bother to clean insides that much. In intervals of couple of months I use gas can to blow off the dust from processor cooler (Scythe Mugen 2) and wipe the fan blades with damp rag. That's it and no temperature problems whatsoever.

I believe there is also HAF 932 Advanced/etc. which has dust fliters with it and if I'd be buying my case now, that would probably be the one. HAF 932 is terrific case, it has lots of space and the cooling is extraordinary. Watercooling installation is also easy as the case has fittings for radiators.

Either regular or Advanced model, both are highly recommended options IMO.

I think its honestly fine. It only settles on the backplate of the GPU for me an gets caught on the rad, fan and fan grills. All pretty easy to clean.

I have the Advanced. It just has a filter on the base (Power Supply fan intake). I have a Labrador who lives indoors and he sheds tremendous amounts of hair. Even so, a quick wipe over with a duster every 2 or 3 days and an inside clean every month is more than adequate.

Fitted with a CoolerMaster V6 fan set up, it dropped standard Intel fan temps by 20c!
