Google maps?

Featured Replies

I must be terminally thick, but I can't seem to find any mention of how to activate the google map function. I went through the manuals and the tutorial, but came up with goose-eggs.

What's the secret to getting the google map to integrate?

Thanks. The update was successfully downloaded update after reinstalling the PMDG SP1c (the righthand box says version 1.4 when I start it up) as per the readmefirst. That's when I started looking for a button/menu item for the map. Do I need to be in the air for it to activate?

It's still not showing up anywhere. FSX is allowed through my firewall and I've even turned off AV programs. IE9 is my default browser. I load the plane in windowed mode (2d panel) open up the FS2Crew bar ("V"), turn the power on, bar shows version 1.4 then goes to "Preflight Checklist." I open up Google maps on a separate monitor and there's nothing there. I clicked on the link in the other guys' posts and see the other flights.

Any ideas?

Just how do you get Google Maps to show up? Because when I turn on the FS2Crew power button there is no sign of it - I have v1.4 While only a minor hassle because if I want to see my flight in Google Maps I can use Plan-G I would still like to get this to work. Thanks

The Map button is located top RHS of the NGX Configuration Manager. Spexsavers comes to mind, jokingly, of course!

Hi Bruce,

You need to open the Map in another browser window.... if you have two monitors or even an iphone/ipad, this is not a problem.

But if you just have a single monitor, viewing the map will be a bit tough due to limited screen real estate.

Here's a direct link for the map:

OK Brian, thanks for that.

Right now have the map can see others but my flight isn't there. Further suggestions appreciated. Thanks

I have a weird suspicion that this map function works best with users who use the voice control version vs the Button Control Version. Im currently using the button control version and even tho my flight appears on the map, it only does so for a few seconds before disappearing only then to reappear after a minutes. I have also witnessed this with other button control users. Is this normal? or is there a fix to this?

I've the same problem, disappeering and reappering of my own aircraft but seeing the others. I'm also using the button control version. What I've found out is, if I click on my plane the heading reads always 0 in the popup regardless of the real heading.

Just noticed, as I'm currently on a flight with an 800Wl en route from KMIA-KJFK at 35k but all the aircraft I see on the Map are all voice flights. Button planes not showing up. Wonder why?
