June 2, 201214 yr I must be terminally thick, but I can't seem to find any mention of how to activate the google map function. I went through the manuals and the tutorial, but came up with goose-eggs. What's the secret to getting the google map to integrate?
June 3, 201214 yr Commercial Member Hi, Pls sign with your real name. You need to have Version 1.4, which was just released. Please login to your FS2Crew account and click "Completed Orders" and redownload the installer again. There is no stand-alone update. B. June 3, 201214 yr Author Thanks. The update was successfully downloaded update after reinstalling the PMDG SP1c (the righthand box says version 1.4 when I start it up) as per the readmefirst. That's when I started looking for a button/menu item for the map. Do I need to be in the air for it to activate? Chris
June 4, 201214 yr Commercial Member Hi Chris, The map will start working as soon as you turn on the FS2Crew Power button. P.S. You need to include your last name. Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
June 4, 201213 yr Author It's still not showing up anywhere. FSX is allowed through my firewall and I've even turned off AV programs. IE9 is my default browser. I load the plane in windowed mode (2d panel) open up the FS2Crew bar ("V"), turn the power on, bar shows version 1.4 then goes to "Preflight Checklist." I open up Google maps on a separate monitor and there's nothing there. I clicked on the link in the other guys' posts and see the other flights. Any ideas? Chris Aurit
June 4, 201213 yr Just how do you get Google Maps to show up? Because when I turn on the FS2Crew power button there is no sign of it - I have v1.4 While only a minor hassle because if I want to see my flight in Google Maps I can use Plan-G I would still like to get this to work. June 5, 201213 yr The Map button is located top RHS of the NGX Configuration Manager. Spexsavers comes to mind, jokingly, of course! Rick Almeida

Thanks Bruce Hi Bruce, You need to open the Map in another browser window.... if you have two monitors or even an iphone/ipad, this is not a problem. But if you just have a single monitor, viewing the map will be a bit tough due to limited screen real estate. Here's a direct link for the map: http://fs2.fs2crew.com:8080/SimpleTracker/map.do B. June 5, 201213 yr OK Brian, thanks for that. Bruce Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."
June 6, 201213 yr Right now have the map can see others but my flight isn't there. Further suggestions appreciated. Thanks Bruce Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." June 6, 201213 yr Right now have the map can see others but my flight isn't there. Further suggestions appreciated. Thanks Bruce I have a weird suspicion that this map function works best with users who use the voice control version vs the Button Control Version. Im currently using the button control version and even tho my flight appears on the map, it only does so for a few seconds before disappearing only then to reappear after a minutes. I have also witnessed this with other button control users. Is this normal? or is there a fix to this? Gidel Warde Edited June 6, 201213 yr by cappinsuruje2
June 6, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi Gidel, I'll investigate it. Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
June 6, 201213 yr I've the same problem, disappeering and reappering of my own aircraft but seeing the others. I'm also using the button control version. What I've found out is, if I click on my plane the heading reads always 0 in the popup regardless of the real heading. Wolfgang Schroeder Wolfgang Schroeder
June 6, 201213 yr Bryan Just noticed, as I'm currently on a flight with an 800Wl en route from KMIA-KJFK at 35k but all the aircraft I see on the Map are all voice flights. Button planes not showing up. Wonder why? Rick Almeida
