Same here, and i don`t know why they didn`t equipped the Maule with G1000 cockpit, which is avialable in the real Maule.

It`s 2012 and they throw oldtimers at us. Except for the Icon, but thats an low end airplane in terms of avionic systems.

Maybe the Flight programming can not handle complex systems ?!?

Quest Kodiak, maybe?

The difficulties linked to visibility in tail draggers can easily be solved: trackIR support ;)

It certainly would be a nice goodwill gesture. It would be great to see more positive buzz.

Yeah, my two biggies I would like to see implemented:

1: Track IR Support

2: Individual brakes assignable to toe brake axis

These two would go a long way in the immersion factor for me. I am patiently waiting...

That's my top two, as well. Looking around with my thumbs and braking with my fingers is so 20th century.

Most gamers like me don't have the hardware everyone seems to think is a priority to support. I started flying MS Flight with an Xbox controller. I did take the plunge and by a yoke and throttle quadrant, but can't justify rudder pedals and a head tracker for gaming.

In the gaming world, we think it's great when a company supports something beyond an Xbox controller with programmable keys for the keyboard, since it means they took the time to port the game to PC properly.

I'm thinking about building rudder pedals if I can keep the cost very low using parts laying around and/or from a surplus house. Beyond that, I don't see myself buying any more special hardware. My gaming friends think I was nuts for buying the yoke, but it did make landing much easier, and thus pushed my happy passenger percentage way up.

I may view things a little differently than some, but I have the belief we are all gamers here. Flight simulation is just a subset of gaming.

For me, it is all about immersion. My absolute favorite " gaming" on the computer, is flight sims. I currently have about 6 good ones installed and ready to go at a moments notice. Matter of fact, I have no other games on my computer other than flight sims.

I have spent a fair amount of money, on my controllers and my Track IR device, especially if I add them all up. But for me, I justify it as it really increases my immersion factor when I am flight simming, in pretty much all of my flight sims, and I know they will last a long time.

So far, Flight is the only one that I have that does not offer support for Track IR and brakes assignable to a toe brake axis. So for those like me, and yes in the grand scheme of things we are probably not a large number, but there are many no doubt - it would really add a lot to our enjoyment of Flight.

But just like Flight - hardware like this, is certainly not something for everyone. Many folks are really enjoying Flight using simply a mouse, others with an x-box controller - the thing is, as long as they enjoy it the way they fly it, that is all that counts!

Don B

TrackIR could be cheaper, but it makes a huge difference to first person/sim anything games, and certainly once you have a twist rudder joystick I'd recommend it over rudder pedals, in fact if you're happy with the Xbox controller maybe over the joystick too!
