June 6, 201213 yr Dear microsoft: I hope I can be forgiven, that despite all the obvious work you have put into the flight models, I have developed a pronounced dislike of vintage tail draggers. Landing them feels to me like half my vision has been blocked off (with one eye taped closed) and I find it hard to like. Unfortunately, Alaska seems to be the Land O' the draggersTM Reg. U.S. Pat. http://www.bush-planes.com/ As a consolation prize, can I have a copter pretty please? One of these would do. Thanks in advance! We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... June 6, 201213 yr Depending on how the flight model is applied in Alaska, the tail draggers are the best for ski operations, especially in soft conditions or in overflow on the lakes . Overflow occurs when water is pushed up around the edge or the lake due to the weight of the ice and often is hidden under a blanket of snow. Often a pilot will perform a touch and go on the lake and then circle to see if there is overflow seepage in the tracks. If you notice the two engine braces in the maule … they make good handles to pull yourself up to see over the nose.

June 6, 201213 yr Dear Microsoft I you're gonna give THAT guy one of those things, it's only fair you give me one too. -matt ps I ate all my vegetables this year, and was a relatively good boy.
June 6, 201213 yr To have enough visual contact during landing just move the eyepoint to the left and up . I Can provide a picture and adjustment values when i am back home sent from galaxy ace 2 via tapatalk

June 6, 201213 yr I'm still betting that the Maule will get float, ski and tundra-tire variants to be the bush plane, as it's a pretty good one. Possibly paid DLC, but hopefully free upgrades to the existing Maule. There has to be some reason it's only got two liveries so far. I'll go further out on a limb and say a single turboprop like a Caravan will be the plane bundled with Alaska, or available as DLC if there is no bundle. I would like a twin, especially a flying-boat twin but I just don't think they'll give us one yet, in the interest of "keeping things simple." One way or another, though, there will certainly be a bigger, faster transport aircraft than the Maule available. A helicopter is possible, though... especially if the Maule becomes the bush plane, rather than introducing something like a Beaver or Super Cub. They have indicated that "planes" (as in, plural) will be available alongside Alaska. If we get a bigger, faster transport (one which is needed in Alaska) and the Maule turns out to be the bush plane (one of which is needed in Alaska), that does leave an opening for something different.
June 6, 201213 yr If they must have a tail dragging plane, the Helio Courier seems an interesting challenge. The courier is a long legged pony of a plane. You cant see over the nose at all until the tail lifts. The nice thing about it is that it lifts off at about thirty miles an hour. When it first came out it was the best bush plane in its class IMO.
June 6, 201213 yr To have enough visual contact during landing just move the eyepoint to the left and up . That is what I do, and I have gotten to where I really enjoy the taildraggers - the Stearman and the Maule are my 2 most flown planes. I have the eye movements assigned to a hat switch, so I can move easily and quickly where I want it. Don B

June 6, 201213 yr Author With a cockpit or not? Well, lets put it this way....... If Take on Choppers were to make a stab in Flights direction and throw in a plane or two, do you think they would do it without a cockpit? Or would they rub it in and do an especially nice one? Would Microsoft, making a nod in Take on Choppers direction really want to prove its own relative laziness? If they ever do a chopper, it better have a cockpit. We are all connected..... June 6, 201213 yr Why, yes it would! Though to be honest, I would really like something super-modern. Same here, and i don`t know why they didn`t equipped the Maule with G1000 cockpit, which is avialable in the real Maule. It`s 2012 and they throw oldtimers at us. Except for the Icon, but thats an low end airplane in terms of avionic systems. Maybe the Flight programming can not handle complex systems ?!?
