And the problem is that when I come to this announcement there is no way I can make fs2crew recognise the word 'now'. I try as hard as I can to pronounce the w after no but it doesn't help. Using Win 7 dictation also shows that the voice recognition thibnk I'm saying 'no' or 'know' or something more weird. I do speak as clearly as I can and close to the microphone. But otherwise fs2crew recognises fairly well what I say.

I do not understand what is the correct phrase when passing the TL. Example the TL is in Europe very often FL050. When cleared to pass this level I dial the local altitude let´s say 1021. What are the correct phrases to speak that FS2Crew levae the Descent mode and go to Approach mode. Sorry I am not clear about that with the manual.

Please write down the correct phrases I have to speak when passing TL - I think there is only one I have to speak, isn´t it?

In this case it means after asking for the descent checklist I get the answer about the fuel to my alternate. I am still in Fs2crew descent mode. I am cleared to an altitude below the the TL I set the altimeter on my side to the local value.

 

Then I speak: Transition Altimeters 1021 - the FO answers with set or checked -

When passing the TL FL50 (whis was set in the maddog CDU) I speak passing 5000feet NOW -

What happens then? Fs2crew sholud go to the appoache mode!? What is the answer of the FO?

I cannot make Fs2crew to do anything. I always have to switch manually to the approach check. Somewhere here the worhflow is broken for me.

Is "NOW" being detected in the Green Bar?

 

Make sure you say "now" clearly and distinctly from the other words, and ensure it's in the green bar.

hmm it does not work - I say Passing 5000feet - NOW - the display says NOW and the FO answers with Checked. But it does not switch to approach mode / check. It stays in descent. I did everything the approach brief and the descent check - but I am not able to go to the approach clist. I have to switch manually to the approach list.

Yes Bryan I guess - I installed the main installer and SP3.

Maybe it is my fault - I want to find out what it is!

I don't know what you've missed I'm afraid.

 

Without being physically at your computer, I can't see what you're missing.

 

The mode should auto-switch, but in your case I guess you just need to do it manually unless you can figure out the step you're missing.

 

Anyone have any other ideas?

- when I call for the Decent checklist I get only the answer that I have enough fuel for the alternate - no other announcements - is this ok?

 

- before transition I set the captain altimeter to local here 1015.

 

so I have to speak:

 

“TRANSITION 1015

"PASSING 6000 FEET NOW”

 

- then the Fo altimeter is switched to 1015 and Fs2Crew switches to Approach mode?!

Hi Tom. Not sure if you've done this, you probably have but here goes. Try saying the first part slow " altimeter ___ " pause " passing transition altitude now. "

 

Also try saying only " passing transition altitude now." And see what happens.
