June 16, 201213 yr I know what you want! Now if my wife finds this post, you will have to explain something! to replicate their current FS9 payware library in FSX. That will never be possible in my case. I have so many great FS9 addons for so much money. I would say give me 5 more years for that, but something tells me in 5 years something else than FSX will be the 'standard' of FS.
June 16, 201213 yr i think if MS Flight fails, Microsoft will eventually make FS11. Xplane10 is ok but there is no realism at major cities or airports like fs9/fsx.

I would say give me 5 more years for that, but something tells me in 5 years something else than FSX will be the 'standard' of FS. Am in the same position. I run both FS9 and FSX (after initially loading FSX out of curiosity!). I choose however to do most of my flying on FS9 because I have spent a FORTUNE (literally £$€1,000s) on addons for this to bring it up to an incredible standard and I can fly on this with great FPS and with a great degree of realism. To achieve anything similar on FSX would require another huge spend and, although I would have to admit FSX probably offers more potential, the difference between FSX and my FS9 as it currently stands would certainly not justify another huge spend. Like many other true simmers therefore, even if I were to buy a new state of the art computer, I would probably reinstall FS9 and it would still be my main flightsim platform. Bill
June 16, 201213 yr Author all 3 and add a 4th to your list :LMAO: I would have included a 4th but this is supposed to be a family-friendly forum... Of course, without #4 there wouldn't be any families at all - but not going there!!! Ian, now I must be the only FS9er not having the QW146 yet! But I promise once I overcome my general graphics problems, I will add it to my virtual hangar. Most people seem to enjoy it, so I see no reason why I couldn't too. Especially when you read threads like this, seeing how FS9ers are treated by many FSXers: http://forum.aerosof...rport-toulouse/ The best you can get in the Net! Yes. I have recently lost the joy of simming due to graphics problems described in three other posts - blurry ground and jagged roads no matter what I do. I suspected my CPU being too slow without overclock, my numerous installs having screwed up something and even my idiocy of not being able to follow FS9.cfg and NVInspector settings. So I had my CPU overclocked to 4.0 and I even reinstalled the sim completely and the blurries/juggies are all still there in the default! Plus my post in the 'Help using the AVSIM forums' forum. Looks like some general graphics (card) problems. I will fight, no give up. Too long in this game to be fooled by technology, no matter how tricky. :aggressive: Have a great beerkend! Good luck my friend. To me that is about the only "downside" to the FS hobby. It's so much fun and so addictive that when it doesn't run smoothly it feels like the sky is falling down. Trust me, I get really grumpy when I'm having any kind of technical problem with FS and am not enjoying flying because of it. I'm sure you will sort it all out Cheers Ian
June 16, 201213 yr Author Though we get the occasional troll making a brief visit, the FS9 forum really is one of the most civilized experiences you can still have on the net. A great bunch of people who will go out of their way to help someone else. Apart from the "Bargain Basement" announcements, I almost never bother with any other forums. As for the folks who trash others for their choices - it's a sad fact of humankind that we often try to build our own self-esteem at the cost of destroying others. A "I'm the king of the castle" thing and about as mature too. (For those who aren't familiar with it - it's a playground game played by the under 5 set) I am by no means a conservative, but there is a lot of truth to the basic conservative dictum that "newer" isn't always "better." To me FS9 is a mature platform that gives me more value for my hobby than I could ever expect. And if people want to feel all "real world" - the fact is that most "real world" professional pilots will spend most of their career flying one or two different types and will log thousands of hours flying to and from the same destinations. Realism anyone??? As long as it's fun, who cares which version of FS someone is using? Okay, enough pontificating. I'm heading back to the QW 146 - though the iFly 737 still has a slight edge for me. Either way, it is as everyone has said - an instant classic. Well done QualityWings - I can't wait for the release of their 787
June 17, 201213 yr i agree Kiwiflyer45, with addons for fs9 like: Rex, UTX, GE PRO, FS Global and Zinertek to name a few, fs9 looks as good or even better than fsx, and those fast smooth fps.....i love it. By the way have u checked out the AirSimmer A320 Basic edition which is only for fs9, it is really the #1 VC cockpit in FS9 and a good flight model. Call your therapist and lock the wife away before clicking on the video below :LMAO:

Call your therapist and lock the wife away before clicking on the video below :LMAO: Airbus? The Dark Side??? I'll have to think about that for a while... Like maybe five minutes... I did try to lock the wife away before I watched the video but I couldn't find her. Come to think of it, I don't think I've seen her since I added REX to FS9 a couple of years ago... I think she might have run away with my therapist as he had all my money... I will admit that having seen some of Rafal's screen shots of the Air Simmer A320 VC I have been considering buying it. I think it might be my "dog days of July" treat. July and August are unbearably hot and humid around here. So I will just stock up on beer and chips, lock the door, crank up the AC to Ice Age and fly for a couple of months. By then I should have read the QW146 manual and be ready to confuse myself with something completely different... :drinks: Cheers Ian
June 17, 201213 yr Oh dear - I wish I hadn't clicked on that AirSimmer video! I could do with a good A320, but I already have the original Eurowings Pro A319/320 and also the Feel There PIC versions so I was trying to make do with these and resist yet another purchase. There could be a lot of wives locked away this weekend! Bill
June 17, 201213 yr So I will just stock up on beer and chips, lock the door, crank up the AC to Ice Age and fly for a couple of months Know how you feel Ian. I got off to a bad start with the Maddog ... couldn't start the engines. Read the manual, bought THE DVD, looked at the youTube videos and failed miserably. Haven't attempted to fly her in 18 months. One day.

That's why my sig has his name, the line just made me get the bus (one of the best a/c I've had). And seeing the 146 videos above, guess what will happen next to my sig HA! Best luck for the match Rafal.. GO POLAND !!

Read the manual, bought THE DVD, looked at the youTube videos and failed miserably. Haven't attempted to fly her in 18 months. One day. I did the same thing with the VR FA18 Super Hornet. Clearly an amazing simulation but I've never mastered getting the thing fully ready to fly so I've never actually got it into the air. It's been sitting in my hangar for about the same time as your Mad Dog. I know the answer - RTFM but it's sooooo long and my brain turns to mush trying to remember what everything is, let alone what to do with it. So I too am waiting for that "one day!"
