Microsoft plans 'major' announcement today

Featured Replies

Microsoft plans 'major' announcement today at 3:30 local time in Los Angeles.

I am thinking they are launching a Tablet for Windows 8 and show how you can access TV shows and Films with the new tech....hence the reason this event is in LA LA LAND

No word yet, although I have been scouring the usual sources...

We can hope it will be FS11 :LMAO:

Nah, it is FS 14, they've decided to skip a few numbers to make it seem more futuristic, and they've dropped the S too, so it can be called F-14. :LMAO:

probably :Sigh:

I'm all for new tablets, but everytime a new one is revealed, nothing that is industry-changing revolutionary is present. (Usually) just updated processors and screens. Something completely cool and never-seen-before would be awesome, but I doubt it...

Okay, Matthew you were right.

They pretty much released a Microsoft iPad.

WOW...It actually looks really cool. Goes to show the days of the desktop are over and we old farts are a bunch of Dinosaurs now.

"you can take my desktop from my cold dead hands" :LMAO:

I am somewhat underwhelmed, but hey, what do I know? I'm over 50!

Just what the world needs, yet another underpowered, undersized laptop without a proper keyboard :LMAO:

Stand by for ironic jokes about the Surface sinking without trace, etc. Apple and Kindle have got that market pretty much sewn up.

I actually like these light weight gadgets. I am a heavy desktop user but I would rather a small gadget on the side for portable access to internet and email over a clunky laptop.

The issue I can see with this one so far is I don't like the way it opens and has that kickstand at the back. They seem to have forgetton.....LAP-top. That thing won't be comfortable sitting on my lap on a train on the way to work with that kickstand.

I'm not surprised.

I must confess that I gave up FSX flying about 6 months ago. My desktop PC is now stowed away and replaced with a Dell Precision M6600 notebook, which I use for photo editing and an additional Asus Zenbook when travelling.

During the last winter I realized that I didn't fly any more in FSX. I only updated add-ons and graphics drivers and performed tests to make sure that all add-ons worked OK. All my recreational activities are now focused on my grandchildren and photography. Why would I have this monster, OC:ed, desktop PC with all phans spinning loud?

The mass consumer and producer market is definitely not going in the way that FSX users want to go. It's sad - I've been flying FS since the subLOGIC-era, but now it's time for me to say goodbye to flight simulation and the fantastic FS community.I'll miss you all!
