What is the best twin engine plane for FS2004

Featured Replies

I've been flying that one quite a bit lately - handles great. I'm having trouble getting optimum performance from the engines (can only run about 2000 rpm) but I'm sure that's me...Best,sg

I own the following: The Cheyenne, the Conquest, the C310 and the PMDG Beechcraft. My thoughts:1. The best complete package in my opinion is the Cessna 310. The panel and VC are outstanding - very atmospheric, you can almost smell that "airplane smell" of slighly old upholstry, dirt and dust and engine oil. Flight model is excellent - not an easy plane to fly well though. Long wings, short fuselage, strong engines and big gas tanks on the wing tips make the plane a real handful, especially to land in anything but a calm. I have the Reality XP GPS installed which is a real plus. 2. Best hand flyer: Hands down, the PMDG Beech is simply a blast to fly. Gentle, smooth, easy to coordinate turns, straight forward to configure and trim for the phases of flight. And with the Reality XP gauges in it, it is easy to overlook the stock gauges. By far the best value at only about $15. 3. Best 2d Panel: the Conquest II. Flight 1 does as good a job as anybody making the 2d panel look 3d. Gauges are bright, clear, easy to read with a good perspective. I find this plane hard to handle though - coordinated turns are a real challenge, especially maintaining a constant rate of climb/descent or level flight. Hope this helps.

I would like some advice about the best twin engine plane for FS9.I am looking for a product of high quality and good documentation.

>I would like some advice about the best twin engine plane for>FS9.>I am looking for a product of high quality and good>documentation.>Well my two favortie props are the DH6 and the Aero Commander. Best part is they have VC and are freeware.See you in the fence...CYYZ

I have all of the the FSD twins (Cheyenne, Seneca, & Navajo). I also have the Flight1 441 & PMGD B1900D. Each of these is of excellent quality though some are on different levels (i.e. the PMGD 1900 is a more basic package, but its still great). If I could have only one of these I would take the Navajo. Not sure what some of the issues people have with FSD. They are one of the best makers of add on aircraft. I have been 100% happy with all three twins and they have great customer support. Also I still love the Cheyenne and it would probably be number two on my list. Add the reality xp flight line 2 avionics and its really sweet.

I have considered one of the FSD planes because of their damageevaluation. What differs these three plane from each other (apart from performence)? Is anyone more prone to take damage?

So where Mr. Dickens is my information incorrect? I did not say that I had problems when it was switched off. I had problems when it was switched on of course. You whole sentence btw implies that there are/were in fact problems with it.I also mentioned that the damage modeling should be refined/corrected in the meantime. I won't refer to another post here that I read about the "refinement".So don't come here and lecture me, while I try to be as objective and forthcomig as I can towards your company and products which is hard enough for me.Alex

What does the PMDG Beechcraft offer that you won't get in the default twins supplied with FS9?

Sorry I don

In terms of the damage model, the Navajo is the most durable, as it's real-world counterpart is built to be a workhorse. These engines were "made to be abused" so to speak. So it takes a lot to wreck one of them. The Cheyenne is a turboprop, and the turboprop engine is not subject to damage the way a piston prop is. But what can go wrong here is the prop gearbox. This can go out on you after a while if you push the throttles to the firewall too often. The Seneca uses a fairly conventional piston engine, which will not take nearly as much abuse as the Navajo.Feel free to drop by our forum and talk with other woners of these aircraft as well. They can probably give you more input on their experiences.http://www.fsd-international.com/team/TD_forum_sig.gif

Hear, hear! Another vote for the Cessna 310 Charlie Mike. Best combination of looks, flight modeling, sounds, and virtual cockpit with little or no impact on framerates. Outstanding bird. - Matt D.

Yup, those two get my vote for best freeware also:Eric Dante's Twin OtterMilton Shupe's Aero CommanderTodd

I have the FSD Cheyenne and Flight1 Meridian. Both are top-notch payware aircraft (although the Meridian is a single-engine turbine). FSD is coming out with a Piper Aerostar soon, and they already have a Navajo and Seneca. The reviews of the Flight1 Cessna 441 and 421 are excellent, although I do not own those models. The FSD Cheyenne is my favorite aircraft right now. It flies well, its very fast and flies high. I think the exterior graphics are well defined and of very high quality. The interior panels (2D & 3D) are awesome, useful and well-lit at night. The virtual cockpit and cabin are very good (especially if you have Active Camera). Aeroworx is coming out with a Beechcraft B200 King Air. The screen shots look awesome but I have never used one of their products. I can only speak of Flight1 and FSD, and both companies have excellent post-purchase support and information-filled bulletin boards. I would have no problem purchasing another product from either company.I have read reviews of the PMDG B1900 and 737. Neither product appeals to me at this point in time, but the reviews are excellent. PMGD was the first payware company to offer support and aircraft for the FLY! series of flight simulators. PMGD has a reputation of excellence in flight sim payware aircraft.Good luck in your choice!

I have the Meridian. If you compare the Meridian and the Cheyenne, what is bettter or worse with the Cheyenne compared to the Meridian?
