June 26, 201213 yr Hi all , I want to purchase a MCP Autopilot module for use with FSX / PMDG 747 Queen, Can anyone recommend which one to buy?, both are similar price around £320,00 Many thanks in advance edmundo
June 27, 201213 yr The GF one works well in 1.25 firmware - previous one locks up in W7 64bit when turning dials fast. The drawback on 1.25 firmware is, it is bigger in bytes than previous builds and the producer had to wipe out the serial number from the unit. As far as I remember, the only working software (FS Labs I guess it is) for GF MCP Pro and PMDG 747 is licensed on serial number principle. Please dig dipper in that way, so You won't regret Your decision. I am very satisfied GF customer, but have no idea on VR Insight, since I never touched it. Bartłomiej Ender
June 27, 201213 yr I have the VRInsight MCP Combo, pretty happy with that. I use LINDA and fsuipc and it works well. Pretty rock-solid. Handles MCP, autopilot, instrument knobs, radio stack, transponder and has some left over buttons on the right side. As I understand it, someone has completed a PMDG 747 module for it. There is support for quite a few other aircraft too. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
June 27, 201213 yr I want to purchase a MCP Autopilot module for use with FSX / PMDG 747 I have never regretted buying any of my Goflight Modules, just great quality hardware. The Goflight MCP is more realistic and has Alt int and SPD Int but the VRinsight gives you the Efis which you will need to buy separately with Goflight. If you see yourself collecting more cockpit hardware and building up a comprehensive system buy the Goflight gear , you will never regret it.
June 27, 201213 yr I've always wanted GoFlight but their prices have just kept me out of their market. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
June 27, 201213 yr The Goflight MCP is more realistic and has Alt int and SPD Int but the VRinsight.. You just press the dials in for ALT and SPD intervention on the VRi hardware. Cheers, Andy.
June 28, 201213 yr Hi I just purshased the VRinsight Efis mcp com last week and it works perfectly with the iFly 737ng package and also with my LevelD 767. I run FS9 and from what I see it does the same FSX too. I have not tried any key mapping yet for my Wilco Airbus Evolution package yet. My only regret is that I cannot use my Saitek multi panel with some of my other birds. That is unless some one knows how to do that or even if it can be done???...................John
June 28, 201213 yr That is unless some one knows how to do that or even if it can be done??? Does FSUIPC recognize the switches, knobs and buttons? If so, it should be able to handle the assignments, yes? Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
June 28, 201213 yr Hi Gregg I don't really know I confess I am a little in the dark about that yet. Andy would know I guess. What aircraft do you use your VRi on??
June 28, 201213 yr You just press the dials in for ALT and SPD intervention on the VRi hardware. Hello Andy When I said more realistic what I meant was that the Goflight MCP has exactly the same layout as the 737NG and functions the same and has the benefit of much better 7 segment displays whereas the VRi unit is more generic, which in itself is not a bad thing if you tend to fly lots of different aircraft. If I had not started down the path of buying Goflight gear I would probably have the Vri MCP myself But when I got my first Goflight modules VRi did not exist and seeing as I then had a Goflight rack to fill it made sense to keep buying more of their gear. Any of the MCP's on the market are going to be a huge step up in realism and enjoyment for anyone venturing into this type of hardware.
June 28, 201213 yr I was just making it clear that the VRi MCP's have speed and altitude intervention, your previous comments made it sound like they had neither, that was my only concern. Cheers, Andy.
