June 29, 201213 yr The info you are posting is quite valuable, so please keep sharing. I'm just glad I'm not needing to use it.
July 2, 201213 yr So I had a look through the .cfg file and found "ReflectionQuality=LOW". I changed "custom=0" to "=1" and changed that "LOW" to "HIGH". When back into the game and BAM! Performance boost was still there and I had my water reflections back. You made my day! Great performance now with awsome reflections!
July 2, 201213 yr I changed "custom=0" to "=1" and changed that "LOW" to "HIGH". Helped me too! Tnx! MSI Z87-G43 | i54670K@3400 | 16 Gb DDR3 @ 1866Mhz | Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 G1 6GB | SAMSUNG SyncMaster 2433BW 24" @ 1920 x 1200 | Windows 10 64 bit Pro | Saitek X-55 Rhino | TrackIR 5 Pro
July 2, 201213 yr A quote from one of the devs on the beta forum: I think most often we try to set Maximum to the maximum that someone would likely what to set everything. It isn't really intended that everything is run on maximum at the same time (which is why there is no overall bucket for it). On High settings we don't use high water reflections because we never had enough time to test them. I interpret that to mean that a custom setting of HIGH for reflections may have undesired consequences because that setting was not tested. Try it anyway, and if it works, then you can say you've tested it. :) Note that there's a known bug on MAX reflection settings, which is probably also on HIGH as well. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! July 2, 201213 yr I use nividia inspector for FSX with 8xs etc and 2 grid. people who use this NI knows the range given by Nick. my question is: does someone has tried for FLIGHT the best settings? in the meantime I have within FLIGHT lowered the shadows to medium and put use=0 to1 with refection to high in cfg. the rest in flight I put them on HIGH. due to the NI I have vsync set to standard and 1/2 refreshrate time. so i didnot check within FLIGHT the vsync. please any comment would be appreciated. paula
July 2, 201213 yr I tried using my Inspector settings for FSX with Flight, and found it introduced a lot of stuttering for me. I did not take the time to go through and change some settings to see if I could optimize it - I have found the in game settings to work very well for me, so I just reverted back to them. Don B
