Land on this one in your RV

Looks like a neighborhood airstrip with houses along both sides of the strip.

That's exactly what it is:

There's no place like this place, so this must be the place.

I agree the RV has better brakes but I think that the stearman stalls at a lower speed. Its a good question... needs to be tested.

the RV stops fast in STOL mode: < 10% fuel, full flaps, just above stall speed, and with the parking brake on. ;)

Good one. Here it is on Google maps. https://maps.google....680556&t=h&z=16

Wow, if you drag around the area, there are little strips all over the place. Alaska has air strips like we have Starbucks in Vancouver. ie: on every corner.

And a set of new tires waiting at the FBO?

I think they have the airport in the wrong location. If you hit Bing Maps and search for this location (361 W Jack Fish Rd, Wasilla, AK), you will see where the airport should really be. What clued me in was that should have been a lake if it was in a hole like that. They would need some serious pumps to keep it from flooding after every rain.

I think you are right. Jack Fish Landing Airport (7AK4) on the sectional and on Google Map’s (satellite) is located adjacent to and parallel with W Fairview Loop road near the intersection of W Jackfish road. FLIGHT’s 7AK4 is located about 8 nm north of where it should be and according to satellite maps, there is nothing there in the real world. I had the hardest time finding 7AK4 as I was using SkyVector and FSWidgets – flew up and down W Fairview Loop road and could not find it. Finally I switched FSWidgets to satellite mode and I could see that I was right over where it should be...didn’t exist in FLIGHT. That is until I finally found 7AK4 in FLIGHT’s map…way north of where it should be.

Cool little strip, thanks for the heads up! Got the RV and the Stearman in there first try, but had a light fuel load... The RV slips so well, full flaps and full rudder she comes down really nicely, can touch down right at the beginning of the strip dropping in right past the trees.

Just as much fun, taking off out of there, load up full fuel and a passenger! That's a tough climbout!

Wow, cool strip..Love it! I bet there are loads of little gems around the place

Stomp on them hard and the plane flips right over.

Did it last night. With 4 pax up. Ouch. It didn't quite flip, but it went up, and sideways, and then back down again..all in slow motion =O

They still said they'd fly with me again.

There's some great Fly-in take-off and landing competitions on Youtube..This field would be ideal (as long as you don't mind losing one or two competitors) In the absence of Aerocaches, we should organise something...

The approach is nastier than St Barth's imo! Lots of flare and frantic braking LOL..I've been practising to see how heavy I can get the Maule in and out of there..Not very is the answer

Definitely harder than St. Barths. At least there you can bail out over the water if you have a missed approach. A missed approach here would be interesting to say the least.

Thank you.
