July 5, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi guys, I am about to set up a Youtube account dedicated to advanced tutorials dedicated to FSX and starting with free advanced tutorials for the NGX, I do have a full copy of FRAPS but I dislike the heavy fps hit, Is there anything better to record with? Kindest Regards, Alex Alex Ridge Join Fswakevortex here! YOUTUBE and FACEBOOK
July 5, 201213 yr Fraps is as good as it gets. If you try to use FS replay or similar you will lose a lot of the external animations making things look very amatuerish. If it helps, remember that Youtube videos are not HD movies! You can seriously lower your resolution without affecting the quality of the video and that should give you back a few fps. Paul Smith.
July 5, 201213 yr Moderator Video camera? :) i actually prefer the look of FS videos done using a video camera to record than using FRAPS. All the BillyBob videos are done recording the screen with a video camera rather than fraps. Plus the video camera makes it look a little more real since that is what you would be using in the real world anyway. I've also found the video camera makes videos at night look better when recorded using this method than with FPAPS or other internal video capturing equipment. Sean Campbell Totally agree video camera is the best.
July 7, 201213 yr If you have an MSI card; MSI Afterburner has a built in video & screen capture ability. The quality is quite frankly excellent and it keeps it all in a single video. I recorded for 30 mins the other day, with the only downside being the huge file size. Also the frame hit I found to be unnoticeable. (I've also used it whilst playing Battlefield 3 at Ultra settings). Thanks Matthew T Gardiner
