July 11, 201213 yr Hi. I just got my gtx690 card today, and I have 3 x 24" Benq 2490HD screens in surround mode. My problem is that when in VC, even when I zoom out max, I am too close to the instrument panels infront of me. I cant look at my instruments and look outside at the same time. I have to choose one or the other, and that makes manual landings quite interesting... :) I am running at 5760 x 1080 resolution (landscape mode), and I think Ive done the surround config correctly. I have set wideaspectview=true in fsx.cfg. Here is a screenshot to demonstrate what Im talking about: Please help me get this in the air! Thanks a whole lot in advance :) Andreas Stangenes http://www.youtube.com/user/krsans78 Add me on gamertag: Bullhorns78
July 11, 201213 yr Put a monitor on the fourth video out for Instrument panel? MAnny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
July 11, 201213 yr Author Thanks, but I dont have a fourth right now, and I was hoping there was some other way of fixing it. I enjoy the VC of the NGX, and its kinda ruined if I need to place instruments "in a bag" on a fourth monitor. Andreas Stangenes http://www.youtube.com/user/krsans78 Add me on gamertag: Bullhorns78

I don't have a fourth monitor, I do have my gauges (Hardware) using Flight Illusions. For airliners like the PMDG 737NG I prefer looking at the VC in the 3 monitor setup. But I use my hat switch on my yoke to move between outside view and the VC, But for landing alone, I keep the outside view and use my hardware gauges for insturments. Just for the landing part... Or Once I am steady on the approach, I don't have to look at the instruments. I was going to post a photo of my setup..but I don't know how to link a photo from Picassa web album. July 11, 201213 yr Author YAY I got it to work. I dont really know what I did, but it worked! Among other things, I deleted my old fsx.cfg file, and sent it through ******* again. I also noticed that I had written WideAspectRatio=false, and changed it to False (capital F). Then it worked :) I now have a GREAT view of my cockpit once again! July 11, 201213 yr If you want to improve your frame rate a little more, hide the taskbar. Cheers, Andy.
July 12, 201213 yr BAW321, You have the great fortune to be running three monitors with your 690 - a situation that few of us have decided upon due to cost. We would appreciate some reports on performance (fps, stuttering) in different situations (takeoff, climb, cruise, approach to landing, taxiing, etc..) at various airports. Also, with and without the virtual cockpit of various planes. Maybe with different water textures settings as well as with/without traffic (settings known to greatly affect the performance). Anyway, we would greatly appreciate your consumer reports for such a fine system! So I guess you don't like the WideAspectRatio when in Surround mode? Could you post a screenshot? How is the GTX 690 versus what you had before? For large resolution the big GPU muscle helps. August 22, 201213 yr Glad I stumbled onto this. I have been away from FS for over a year and upgraded with 3 new monitors since then. Jumped in the NG and was disappointed to see that at .30 zoom, the PFD and ND used up the entire center screen. Can't wait to get back on the gaming rig and try it out. BTW, I noticed you said you are running at 5760. Have you tried the bezel corrected resolution? It does show up in the FS menu.
