July 17, 201213 yr Probably it's the FSInn bug (which is a known issue) that causes SAT to be very high on cruise level, and stop you from climbing. David Chen
July 17, 201213 yr Commercial Member we all know that, but 300fpm isn't normal I wouldn't assume, and you'd be surprised at how many people don't know that. You may know that as an aero major, but I would never assume any simmer knows anything more than the very obvious. Remember, this is the same group that will come here complaining about a "bug" that's mentioned is a quirk in the first 3 pages of the intro manual. For some reason, when I posted that earlier, I thought I was posting in the J41 subforum, which would make a lot more sense with the DAlt. argument. Just for another suggestion, if you enter the wrong weights (or enter LBS when it's expecting KGS), the plane will assume it's heavier and perform accordingly. Kyle Rodgers
July 17, 201213 yr Author Probably it's the FSInn bug (which is a known issue) that causes SAT to be very high on cruise level, and stop you from climbing. No it was not. i do not use FSInn. The problem I have confirmed to myself is AS2012 DWC mode. As I mentioned above. I feel i should point out guys as my number of posts to not reflect this. I have been simming for over 20 years. I used to be more active on another well known flight sim forum but hardly go there these days. I did take a year or so out though while I built a new pc a few years ago. My point being that I am pretty good with the obvious stuff and tend to know what I am doing. Although don't think I am not grateful for the suggestions. As Kyle above mentioned he would never assume that any simmer knows anything but the obvious. This is true. I have lost count of the times I have had a Homer "DOH" moment because I have overlooked something that I know very well. Never hurts to be reminded I say. If nothing else it helps lock the info in your head. I am still at a loss however as to why this just started. That I confess is beyond my knowledge at present. July 17, 201213 yr I am still at a loss however as to why this just started. That I confess is beyond my knowledge at present James Why don’t you submit a ticket to HI-Fi support? I was having a problem with high TAT with both the NGX and MD-11 and while it was not exactly like your problem (TAT would change from normal to +47 during the latter stage of a climb or at cruise). At the the time I was using the original AS2012 release plus beta4448. Support requested that I send them some reports from AS2012 and start using beta 4479. After several weeks using AS2012build4479 the problem went away. Miichael Cubine Michael Cubine
July 17, 201213 yr Not sure this will be much help, but AS2012 DWC is always on and I don't see the problem you describe. The few times I've ever hit TATs in the positive range at those altitudes has been in the Middle East in summer. I occasionally see variations in VNAV climb rate, sometimes dipping down to 300-500fpm, but these are short-lived and I've always attributed them to winds, especially lateral winds. I usually check the chronometer when I reach cruise, and my typical climb to FL370 is in the range of 16-18 minutes from the start of the t/o roll, obviously dependent on weights, weather, climb mode, CI, etc. I'm no RW pilot, but that seems reasonable to me. I just posted my AS2012 and FSX [Weather] settings in another thread for another user who's having trouble slowing the NGX on final and thinks it may be AS2012-related. http://forum.avsim.n...2/#entry2421437 Hope you can solve this.
