In-Depth 777 - Developers Interviewed

For crying out loud, why don't you all just stop this conjecture and opinionising (I think that's a new word?!). Goran's a pro, he knows what he's saying. Im a rank amateur and can still see how culling such a detailed file would be counter-productive. Yes, it's only used for precise referencing when creating the optimised xplane version - Roman told me that directly. I doubt that either of the devs will get more involved in this or other discussions until they get a little more mature. So well done guys! At least it'll get finished quicker.

Says our commercial member, which himself is not even capable of the very basics, alike supporting all OS etc.

I was going to stay quiet on this, but seeing as though you seem to want to be so vocal, let's address some of your statements, shall we.

I have 3 add ons for X Plane that are available. 2 of those are compatible with all 3 OS's.

The 3rd one uses Gizmo. I didn't program Gizmo. I don't have the src code. So assuming I have control over it's compatibility is a little silly.

Very simple....the're Blender scripts for such.

Have you seen a mesh when it's had its poly count reduced by a 3D program?

Ramzess got a 3D model from Boeing. He only needed to reduce polys for fps.

Philipp has done all for the crj, hence only little work needed.

As both have great experience and are working full time, they should achieve the same as 4 or more less experienced people, maybe not working full time.

Comparing the CRJ FMS and systems to a 777 FMS and systems is ridiculous. They are nowhere near the same and to assume they are is naive at best.

Please try to think before you post about things you know nothing to very little about.

Instead of fixating on what I do and what OS I support, how about we get back on topic?

Don't worry about it.....

At Oshkosh, a Van's RV8 owner is displaying his aircraft at the Garmin (GPS) tent. Supposeably, he'll be discussing how the RV's Garmin navigation equipment is superior to the Boeing's 777 (as far as real time information is concerned), of which flies for his "daytime" job. In reality, to an extent, considering synthetic vision, uplinked satellite weather, airport diagrams with aircraft's exact location, etc..............these "boxes" do outdo many present day airliners. That "fact", may surprise a lot of people. But.............I suppose the RV might be easier to program for "systems"....

Yes, I've saved my fuselage accidentally fully smoothed which resulted in a huge amount of polys. But, as I said, it was a quick fix with a Blender script.

JUST a fuselage?

-sigh-

Back on topic, eh gents?

Just in case you haven't subscribed to our site for all the latest on Xplane & in particular this great looking plane, here's the link to the interview with Ramzzess and Philipp, the developers:

Look deep into the pics, there's almost as much detail in them, like the reflections, as in 20 of the 800 pages of their draft flight manual!

I'll be keeping my eyes on this one. I would love to see more complex, system rich aircraft for X-Plane 10.

That would be great to have more and more professionally done airliners in xplane as I only fly airliners.

However, without properly working ATC, I can't fly them. LR is quiet about their ATC these days, that is very suspicious... And the on-line ATC is not an option for me for many reasons...
