Fsx fps with utx Rex pmdg and heathrow

Featured Replies

Hi as the title states what fps are u getting I'm on about 15 fps. With pmdg 747 x uk2000 heathrowHi and ultimate traffic 2 at full capacity at heathrow also running rex.

System

I5 2500k 4.2ghz

Hd 6870

4gb ram

Lol, for the last weeks i've also been tweaking a lot and testing it on Heathrow (Aerosoft), the 737NGX, Rex, UTX, GEX, and Traffic X for the best FPS results.

I think the NGX will always cost you some FPS, so a solid 30 fps with that plane seems unrealistic for most setups.

With my current configuration i get around or over 30 FPS in mid-flight, but on Heathrow with lots of AI planes around, it will drop to sometimes 16 fps. It's still very playable, so i'm actually very happy with that!

Lately i've been flying around in smaller planes (like the default Beechcraft King Air 350 or the RealAir Beechcraft 60 Duke). in ORBX-regions (Na/AU) (very nice looking!) and find that FPS is much less of an issue. So nowadays i fly more GA, because it is just as much fun and FPS is much less of an issue.

I also have an 2500K at 4.2 GHz and a Radeon 6870 in crossfire (although CFX doesn't give you any benefit with FSX).

best way to rid yourself of the fps issues is to turn off the fps counter and fly the sim and not the fps counter :)

The only time you should look at the fps is if you get issues in area's that normally perform well or you are testing a new tweak/drivers :)

Nearest I can get is PMDG 737, UK2000 Heathrow, MyTraffic 100%, Active Sky 2012:

6 fps

Smooth as silk....

We want it all, don't we? Which one do you prefer? a smooth flying experience of a sky full of AI planes? LOL

What I do is to turn off AI, do a flight and then start increase the slider slowly until at least 20 FPS (I found that anything lower than this interfere with flying feeling (stutters). With this setup and with traffics set at 10%, I got 20+. Turning everything to the max, I get 12 FPS. I also use 2560x1600 resolution as well.

Truer words were never spoken. I have spent countless dollars, hours and blood, sweat and tears in search of butter smooth, insanely sharp crystal clear graphics and stupendous frames rates with all add ons plus the world's #1 complex airplane, the PMDG 737NGX. Toss in REX ESSENTIAL, all of the FSDreamteam airports, plus the VRinsight hardware of V737 OVHD, Combo II MCP, and CDU-II FMC, and doh! those frames, they are suffering!

I am dying for Prepar3D version 2 with DX11 support to be released. Then MAYBE we can start having the kind of gaming experience that the Battlefield 3, Grand Theft Auto, F-1 Racing, yada yada crowd already enjoy.

IT WILL HAPPEN.

IN OUR LIFETIME!

I HOPE AND PRAY!

I previously plugged "Game Booster 3.5 Beta" (FREEWARE) here on Avsim. It helps. See my posts for a link or visit Download.com (beta version not available on Download.com)

I7 2.8ghz ATI 5800 and 6mb ram with UTX, GEX, REX UK2000, UT2 and My Traffic. IFly 737Ng I fly in Eyefinity with TIR at 5760*1080 with AI set to 36% and get a smooth 10fps. Soon after take off this number increases to 16. Use the FPS to find the sweet spot in your set up, then turn it off.

The trick is to enjoy a smooth flight and not worry about the FPS otherwise it can become obsessive and you don't look out the window!

I run all of the above with Rex.My system is Intel® core(M) i7CPU 3.07 GHZ, 12 GB Ram and twin Nviia GTX680 Video cards.

My best frame rates were over the united Kingdon, with UK2000 scenery with trees and the airports(all) including London City and airport as well as EGLL etc..Around 16 frames with heavies into London. Elsewhere 30/40 fps and General Aviation between 40=70 FPS. Not so in North America with ORBX. KLAX and the rest. KLAX can give me 26 FPS. And my best performance is with all sliders maxed out. Except sometimes Auto gen down to normal. Since using REX I crash more and my FPS deteriorates to the crash or freeze up. I am strongly considering upgrading my CPU to 4,5 and new RAM and Motherboard to be able to run CYVR when it comes out. I also wondered if I had a hardwared failure and this may still be an issue except P3D and XPLANE 10.5 run much more efficiently. Vcr Three really deteriorates from CYPK. Start at 40 FPS and degrades particualrly if I go to CYVR. Down to 5 PS. If I select another airport such as KLAS my frames and performance comes back up. I am a real world pilot and the Heavies are fine at 14 FPS and up. Light aircraft and a bell 206 need 30 plus FPS to have accurate performance. Over 35 and Carenado 172M flies right on the numbers and flares on landing pretty accurately. I have discovered that if you want visuals and performance your computer must perform. I am hoping that in the next couple of weeks when I go to Memory Express to rebuild my computer - they are able to. Not the case six months ago so I just went for the two 680 cards. My last upgrade worked pretty well until I started using REX. But the layering of the clouds and weather are so much more accurate and the planes flight dynamics also is improved. Don
