I'd like to make a suggestion about the EFB:

Allow it to be run on a separate computer or ANDROID tablet.

That would be amazing.

I use my android phone, works really well. I would get the ipad but the price is too steep now so time to look to see if competitors offer something cheaper.

iPad and Foreflight for the win...then again, I have an excuse outside of Flight Sim to drop that kind of money...

My EFB is pretty much my laptop. AirNav, Aircharts.org, VFRmap.com.....I tried the Aivlasoft demo but it doesn't show all altitude crossing restrictions, so no-go for me.

I cannot see how an add-on aircraft can provide the level of EFB details required to be useful.

I believe that Aivlasoft's EFB V2 will show all the details fed by PFPX, including crossing altitudes and expected winds. So I have recently encouraged Chris Grill to deliver an iPAD version which, I believe, will provide as near as possible what the real world pilots have.

Cheers, Richard

That sounds great, but it would be nice if they offered it on other pc tablets also, such as Android.

Lots of developers are making the mistake of thinking the iPad is the only major pc tablet out there which just isn't true.

I don't know if those EFB addons work properly or not, I just know I wouldn't pay 70 bucks for a feature that should be included in any quality aircraft like this.

But my main purpose for the EFB will be performance as I use charts on my iPhone/iPad anyway.

How you do that?? I mean, what iPhone app do you use for charts? Many time thinking in to get an iPad for EFB purposes but I really don't know if worth. The problem is I use my second monitor for TOPCAT and EFB basically but in the very near future, will get a TripleHead2Go card and no more 2nd monitor for EFB tasks. So, give some advice :unsure2:

Any PDF reader?

Any PDF reader?

Yep, I use the PDF reader in my Android phone for all manuals and charts and it works really well. I would get an ipad but its a bit pricey for what it is.

I use PDF reader. You can now make folders, rename etc so it's become so useful! Have all my EGLL Charts saved ;)

Just put all the charts on dropbox. It takes care of it self from there, available on every device.

What I do to organize and save space is only put charts for the airports that I fly into or serve and of course delete the old ones as the FAA releases new ones.

Yeah! I've tried with some charts to check how it looks (in iPhone) and works great. On iPad should be perfect!

This is in the case of US airports, but not all countries provide easy access to their real airport data info, though many of them. I usually find a little bit hard to find "more or less" updated charts for Central and South America, Caribbean and Asia. That's why I keep safe, as gold, some aged charts (some of them from 2005  )

Is the upcoming EFB able to show the real time GPS position of the plane when taxing into airport taxiways labyrinth ?
