August 15, 201213 yr Hi everyone, I am just curious to know, since PMDG has developed aircraft such as the 737 600/700/800/900 and the 747 400 and the 800i/F, I was wondering if it was possible, that down the line in the future that maybe PMDG could design a DC3 and DC4 to make the flight experience a little better. I have flown the Default DC3, and feel that a new, more professional one would better suit the needs for vintage pilots. August 15, 201213 yr Their DC-6B will suit vintage pilots, and yeah it's not a DC-3 but it has 4 engines to manage and that is much more fun in my opinion.

Many younger FS fans might not realise that the systems PMDG are renowned for did not exist even in earlier models of some of the aircraft they've modelled already. Instead of systems these aircraft had "a third man" in the shape of a flight engineer. BTW although I'm sure PMDG will bring their usual level of detail to the DC4 you might want to invest in the excellent PBY, DC2 and existing DC3 models by various developers while you wait. The PBY and DC2 both have engine management modelled. It'll also get you used to early navigation techniques and autopilots. Don't know how you lot will survive without your FMCs :P Geoff Brown
August 15, 201213 yr I'm hoping Brian York will give us a flight engineer with FS2Crew :) Otherwise Multicrew Experience will probably add support. You're right it is a 3 man job, so we have to make up for it with macros and voice control. I have the A300 from Simcheck which has some engineer tasks but not so much needed once in cruise. That can sometimes be a handful, but this DC-6B well it's going to be something else entirely I bet.
August 15, 201213 yr Well Now that PMDG has decided to model some proper airplanes maybe I can wet your appetite, and get their interest in creating (...I'm sure they know the books?) some freighters. There are a couple of books by Stephen Piercey, the young and talented chief photographer of 'Flight International' who was tragically killed in a mid-air collision at the Hanover Air Show on 20th May 1984 whilst on an assignment. Sky Truck ISBN 0-85045-552-9 Sky Truck 2 ISBN 0-85045-704-1 The record of over ten years travelling to record the final days in service of a number of classic prop liners. Now here are some livery and skin challenges for you! None of this pristine ex-shop nonsense. Patched, sratched, weathered and exhaust and oil stained. Taking off from South America grass strips loaded with beef. Grounded in the islands and Florida when their last cargo's were seized by the DEA. Build in an engine management/failure system for these old gals and I'll be lining up with my credit card ^_^ Geoff Geoff Brown
August 17, 201213 yr Build in an engine management/failure system for these old gals and I'll be lining up with my credit card Geoff, you absolutely must take a look at Accusim line of A2A, if you dont know it already. Engine management par excellence. --Peter Fabian
August 18, 201213 yr Since MAAM has halted work on its FSX version, I think it would be fantastic if PMDG would take on the challenge of building a high quality DC3 foe FSX. August 18, 201213 yr Since MAAM has halted work on its FSX version, I think it would be fantastic if PMDG would take on the challenge of building a high quality DC3 foe FSX. I am equally interested! I am still burning to see if Level-D actually has a 757 for FSX, I'm dying for an NGX quality one Inactive
August 19, 201213 yr Wonder how the fs labs airbus going to compare with pmdg quality, since its been in the mill for 2 years now I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
