You have been selected for FS2006

I was amazed at the incredible standard produced by PMDG with their stunning 737 range.I am now amazed at the offering in the form of a Kingair 200 from Aeroworx.seeing aircraft built to these sort of standards makes you frankly dissatisfied with anything less be it a large heavy or a tiny ultralight.I could quite happily delete 80% of my aircraft stable including the stock aircraft.Another couple of mentionable aircraft for me have to be the Cessna Conquest 421c (flight1 software)which although now becoming dating still has that "feelreal" sensation of a twin and of course the Realair simulations SF260.If microsoft decided to release FS2006 without stock aircraft(ignoring the technical problems ;-) and asked you to select an aircraft stable for FS2006 from payware or freeware aircraft available. What would your selection be?CheersPeter

I think my choice would be anything from Realair, Carenado and Flight1, these people make the best I think. I am tempted now with the Kingair 200, but am a bit worried about the fps in the V/C, I use the Track IR3 pro without any problems in the about makes, but would really like the 200 as well. Any comments on the V/C fps in the Kingair.Anthony....

AnthonyI have a Dell 3 ghz with 512 meg ram. I use the Kingair 200 with VC (not cabin) and the thing that has really stood out is the smooth operation and frame rates even in demanding situations.Peter

Hi Peter,I don't have the Flight1 Cessna Conquest 441, but I do have their Cessna Golden Eagle 421C. All the planes you mentioned are great ones. There are so many good payware and freeware aircrafts I have enjoyed it's very hard to choose! But I guess the following would be some favorites that come to mind.-------------------For the Airliner Jets I would take the PMDG 737, Request For Pushback 747-200, POSKY 757, and Historical Jetliner Group's DC-8 and 707.For GA Twin Props I would have to have the Dreamfleet Cessna 310 Charlie Mike 7, without a doubt the new FFS/Aeroworx Super King Air B200, and Milton Shupe and Co.'s Aero Commander 500.For Single GA Prop I would select Dreamfleet's Piper Archer II and Real Air's SIAI-Marchetti SF.260, Carenado's Cessna Centurion 210 M, and Bill and Lynn Lyons Stinson SR-10 Reliant "Gullwing".When it's Showtime I would want the BAe Hawk Black Seahawks/Red Hawks/Saudi Hawks by Owen Hewitt, Mikko Maliniemi, and Mark 'Dark Moment' Beaumont. For Warbirds I would take MAAM-Sim's B-25J Briefing Time, Aeroplaneheaven's Battle for Britain stable(several aircrafts) and F9F Panther(canopy is invisible in FS2004 though), David C. Copley's Lockheed P-38 series, and Groundcrew Design Group's Heinkel He 111H-6.For a BizJet I would certainly want the Eaglesoft Development Group's Cessna Citation X.For water craft my selection would be Bill and Lynn Lyons Sikorsky S-43 and Grumman Goose G-21, Heather Sherman and Co.'s Grumman J2F-6 Duck, and then the Lake Turbo Renegade 270 by John Woodward, Peter Ridge, Lars Kornstaedt, Dan Watkins, Aaron Swindle & others.Shall I go on? :-lolCheers,Jim

The other payware I have work fine in the V/C with this system but I think I would be chancing it a bit with the 200, shame really.I would be interested if anyone has any comments on using this 200 with my kind of system.Anthony

I love the PMDG 737 NG series (I have only the 600/700) but the frames are killer in the VC. My computer is not high end but I expected better.2.4 Intel GhzNvidia 59001 Gig RamSB AudigySee you in the fence...CYYZ

Flight1 should do a promotion - "buy four or five of our aircraft, and we'll give you the simulator free!" - when 2006 comes out! The main product really has become a means to an end - like an operating system....hmmm, interesting paradigm ;).Best,sg

Hey Scott,Good analogy. I agree. It's so tweakable like an OS too.. hehe.Cheers,Jim

That's where they're moving with it too - they just need to get better SDKs. If I had one request for 2k6 - that'd be it - developer support.

JimHaving been out of the frame for a while this gives me a good list of aircraft to choose from ;-)Now mark them out of ten so we get the creme de la creme of your selection ;-)Peter

It's also not all that original, since over two years ago the idea was advanced that FSxxxx is similar in function to a game console; it's true purpose is to serve as a platform for advanced, highly detaled, and realistic add-ons... :)

I just finished a flight with the Aerosoft Katana... what a sweet little airplane! With the service release it's even better than it was when originally released. Would be the perfect trainer to include in the next version of FS.And MS should definetely talk with Aeroworx about the B200.And Eaglesoft about ANY bizjet.Greg
