When FSX does not run well with the latest hardware

Featured Replies

I know, it's not really the latest hardware which I have, but still, one of the more expensive ones:

Intel Core i7 2600k 3.40 (OC'd at 5.15GHz)

GTX 590 and GTX 580

8GB DDR RAM

Asus P8Z77-V

surely not the worst hardware either, but look what I get with this system:

yup, 6fps, wouldn't really care actually, but I see more and more people with average hardware, computers that cost 1000€, reporting framerates around 30-50fps, and I'm getting 10-14fps <_<

I race cars for a hobby. I hear the same argument. "i have a 30000.00 engine and I'm getting beat by people with a 10000.00 engine." WHY? Its all in tuning, setup and how you put the power to the ground! THEN you take advantage of that 30000.00 engine!

GTX 590 and GTX 580

Hello

Pull that 590 out of there and see what happens.

Have you checked Word Not Allowed's settings in the hardware section? Did the trick for my new rig.

Use ONLY the 580. Sell the 590 and use the money for something better.

Also, delete your FSX.CFG. Clean re-install your GPU drivers and be sure that your GPU is installed in the PCIeX16 slot in your Mobo. Also, once you have completed these steps, use Word Not Allowed's Software and Hardware Guide.

Yup. I'd go as far as a complete system reformat, though.

When FSX performance goes to crap, I usually clean reinstall FSX. 3 hours later and I'm rocking with a lean installation.
