August 19, 201213 yr Yep, thats why I like just the hardware buttons device (in my link above) that simply links into the onscreen RXP GNS. Does that 430 module work with the 530 in FSX? | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
August 19, 201213 yr I dont see why it wouldnt. Could ask PFC. I notice that you also need to purchase the RXP Pro hardware driver at another $99 Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
August 20, 201213 yr So that's a total of $700 nice... hmmm | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
August 20, 201213 yr Given the price of their 430 model and that their 530 has a 5" LCD display, I'm afraid I can only dream. Any time an ad or website says "Call for price", I lose all hope :( . Here's a link to the brochure: http://flypfc.com/images/content/pfc_530w_flier.pdf Scott You can buy a complete "budget" gaming PC for what that is going to cost.
August 20, 201213 yr Yes, exactly.... I just don't think its justifiable to avoid pushing on screen buttons using the mouse. It does appear to work with the 530 according to my comprehension in this: http://www.reality-xp.com/flightsim/gns-hardware-driver/index.html Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
August 20, 201213 yr In plan-g, print the plan log out or print to PDF with CutePDF. It should contain the lat/long of each point. In the RXP, the very last page of the waypoints mode you can create any custom waypoints with the lat/long provided in the plan-g flight plan. If its VFR, you shouldn't have too many waypoints. You can put visual notes on those custom points but you should be navigating with your eyes - the GPS is a backup. If its IFR, then you can plan with online planners or FSBuild or FSCommander for an IFR route. If your navdata is fairly recent then 95% of these IFR waypoints will exist in the RXP. Also if you have a Saitek radio panel, you can make the Dme mode control the RXP, since you don't need input to view Dme display. Personally I click on the screen and use the popup RXP most of the time. In the panel.cfg set the window to stay up when changing views by putting "type=special". The popup is much easier to use with trackir. Also if you want the plan in FSX format for other utilities, right click on the FPL button and it will export the plan. You can then import that into weather, moving map, radar contact, etc
August 20, 201213 yr I cheat a little. Whenever I have a plan with tons of waypoints (all in the middle of nowhere) that follows a valley or something like that I 1. try to memorize the plan and then use the GNS Terrain page to follow the valleys and 2. whenever I am a bit lost and forgot which valley to fly into... I (and here comes the cheat) call up the popup default FSX GPS500 which I have added to my plane. Again, I only do this for 'emergencies'. I like that popup window more then having to alt-tab to Plan-Gor any other GPS like map. However, I did find out that I can come a long way with just the Terrain page! It really is an AWESOME feature! So quite often I don't even plot a plan in Plan-G anymore: I just figure out which road or river I want to follow and then look on the Terrain page during the flight what will be the best way of getting to my destination (I do always create a simple A to B plan in the GNS). So I hardly use that popup anymore. Which is nice because I hate popups.
