Someone in the FSX forum wanted to see what settings I was using. Somethig about flying in Issac. I didn't have any trouble with depiction or wx when I flew threw it. Landing a C441 at KMSY was a challange but I managed to do it in one piece after a diversion from KHUM and then 4 go arounds.

Thanks for the information. Most of the changes I made to the .cfg file based upon yours were insignifcant such as thermals downdraft and updfraft and such. Maybe the only significant change was cloud layers from 5 to 10 and disabling wind lock. I am currently using FSUIPC version 4.843. I have probably used about 5 different versions since the one HiFi recommended last December.

Thank you

I started to notice some of the later versions of FSUIPC were making the WX a little sticky where a refresh would be needed but I'm not proof positive yet.

Could also have been from not rebooting my machine in 6 days also. The problem still lies in the infinite amount of parameters, HW and settings ,cfg's etc etc etc.. to easily come up with a set standard. It always hit or miss to find the sweet spot. Your odds of hitting the lottery are probably much better.

On another note my CDD settings in FSX are 90 miles and maxed.

Hi Dave!

Are these settings right for ASE also?

Because I don't have yours last four lines on my cfg....so I think these lines are only for AS2012, and I do not have to add them.

right?

Thanks for reply

You could try most of them. When I was running ASE I was running on a very old machine and had alot of my settings on the lower end of the spectrum. It was an AMD Athalon 2400 at 2GHZ. Now if you are running a higher end rig these settings should be no problem. I will probably be updating those settings in a few days.

Thanks for your reply Dave!

Yes, I run fsx under an i2500k...so no problem I think!

I'll give it a try, and I'll look forward for your new settings!;)

Thanks for the settings, will try them.

For those who experience sporadic aircraft control problems at low altitudes (usually on final) with no apparent reason I suggest WakeTurbulenceStrength = 0. Actually this WakeTurbulenceStrength was killing me in FS and in the sense I was banging my head against what was going wrong.

Could you specify these settings and explain why you decided to change them.

Thanks,

Dirk.

I can't answer your question. Since that time I have made so many changes that I have lost track of what I did and why I did it. Sorry!

Ok, then just post your FSXOptions.cfg here, please.

Much appreciated,

Dirk.

Just FYI, the new SP2 beta has been posted and includes default options profiles which you may want to try. We've also improved depiction across the board and added some IMC-related features/enhancements that affect cloud and visibility depiction.

This is the FSXOptions.cfg I am using now for Build 4469. No weather settings in FSUIPC and nothing in the ini file has been changed and nothing changed in the fsx.cfg file has been changed.
