September 5, 201213 yr Hi All, Couple of question below about FPS and Performance for FSX. 1) Where will I get higher FPS - Windowed mode or FullScreen? 2) Does flying in a VC hurt my FPS? Thanks!
September 5, 201213 yr Hi. Every machine is different, but typically 1) Full Screen 2) VC will hurt the FPS. IMO, VC is a more real way to fly, but everyone has their own opinions. "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma
September 6, 201213 yr I actually don't consider either of those "optional". I have to fly full screen, and I have to use the VC. Compromises are made elsewhere.
September 6, 201213 yr Commercial Member I get better performance in windowed mode. Framerates I never bother looking at. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
September 6, 201213 yr Full screen ..some add-ons like EZDOK restrict you to windowed mode to use EZDOK Studio. #####? <_< I avoid them because windowed mode does not use Direct X hardware acceleration and gives degraded perrformance over fullscreen.
September 6, 201213 yr I use windowed mode too but this is the first time I've heard of not having Direct X hardware acceleration. What does that mean, practically speaking?
September 6, 201213 yr Commercial Member 1) Depends on your system. I too get much better FPS in windowed mode. 2) Of course. Noah Bryant
September 6, 201213 yr Full screen ..some add-ons like EZDOK restrict you to windowed mode to use EZDOK Studio. #####? <_< I avoid them because windowed mode does not use Direct X hardware acceleration and gives degraded perrformance over fullscreen. You only need the Ezdok Studio active when editing views, vibration effects, etc. To others: Ezdok works perfectly in full screen. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
