I installed the PMDG Md-11 some weeks ago and there's still the same problem. When I open the file bar and click on (e.g) maps and go back to the flight, everything is black. When I switch the view there is no difference. I need to do the complete flight again.. it's on the flight and on the ground. It's the same with my iFly 737NG.

Hi Fabian,

 

It might doesn't help at all, but would rally recommend to avoid opening these menus while within a FSX flight. It can and will mess up your flights, which is pretty bad.

 

However, although the solution for your particular problem can be very far off, maybe you want to hit Alt + Enter after the screen turned black. This will switch FSX into windowed mode and helped me in some situations.

You maybe also want to try to Alt + Tab out of FSX and try different ways to get it back (like Alt + Tabbing it again, or press the icon at the task bar).

At least for me it is pretty much just guesswork. However since some time now I am running FSX in windowed mode (where the window is exactly as big as my display, so I don't see the frame, neither I see the task bar, however I see my second screen) which made FSX a little bit more stable for me.

Ja.. das sind ja leider nur Lösungen um darauf zurückzukommen, aber gibt es nicht irgendwie eine Lösung das komplett zu umgehen? Dass das alles einwandfrei funktioniert?

 

 

 

 

I have to add some things. If i press the windows button, to go on my home screen during the flight, it's not possible to continue the flight. It's the same, all black, i hear the engines but i dont see anything..

If you want to know some things about my Computer:

 

Windows 7 Home Premium (2 lines under it, it says Service Pack 1)

Processor: Intel Core i7 CPU 860@ 2.80GHz

8 GB RAM

64 bit System!

if you do a search for uiautomation.dll it will solve your problem known problem for switching from menus etc

i downloaded the uiautomation.dll and put it into the main fsx folder.

today i flew with the md-11 from munich to dubai.

after 2 hours i wanted to proof if your tip works, so I pressed the windows button. but when i tried to keep on flying there was the same problem again. everything was black, i heard the engines, i was able to switch the views, i mean i heard those different sounds but i didnt see anything.

I need help:/

I have this same problem whenever I alt tab out of FSX, when it's running in fullscreen mode. Try hitting the Enter key when you are faced with the black screen of doom. That works for me, anyway.

Are you using the ENB Series mod or Antilag (or any d3d.dll based tool)? That seems to be the cause for that black screen issue.

It seems those tools make your graphics card crash. The result is that actually everything works, meaning FSX did not actually crash. It is only the rendering of the screen that stopped.

I have had that issue for months now but as I am running most of the add-ons on a second PC I almost never have to alt-tab on my FSX PC (at least not after 2 hours in flight...)

What's not mentioned in this thread is that the problem with uiautomation.dll is I believe a compatibility issue.

 

You need an OLDER version of uiautomation.dll in your FSX directory than the new version which ships with current Windows versions.

 

The MD-11 is particularly prone to the problem as the size & complexity of the panel uses up lots of view changes. I cant remember which version of uiautomation.dll you need or where to get it, but if you search these forums for uiautomation.dll, you'll find what you need.

I haven't downloaded any enb series mod's other anything like this. I just installed it and flew.

And if there is 3d3.dll in my fsx folder, can you say me how to turn them of?

I just use my pc for flying. my second pc is a laptop, that one is not that good to play FSX on it.

 

I downloaded the uiautomation.dll which pmdg posted once. is that the wrong version?

This may not apply to your problem but I had something similar with the start window going black where the plane spins. A display card driver update fixed the problem.

 

Just a thought..

You maybe want to try FSSimtimizer. This tool alows you to run FSX in windowed mode without seeing the frame. You have to start in windowed mode and when you press Alt + Enter FSSimtimizer will scale the FSX window so that you don't see the frame of it, and it looks like fullscreen. However then you should be able to press Alt + Tab or Windows without FSX turning black.

PS: Falls du mit der FSSimtimizer Version aus irgendwelchen Gründen (zB.: Ruckeln beim Scrollen, etc.) so wie ich nicht klarkommst schick mir bitte hier eine PN und ich schick dir eine alte Version ohne (für mich) unötige Features :wink:
