Hi folks,

so, around this time last year, i purchased the UK2000 Heathrow Xtreme V2. However, running 100% ultimate traffic 2, and the NGX, it, well, lets just say wasnt running with the best frame peformence (2.5PS-yes, there is a decimal!) .

A few weeks ago, i needed to sort it out, because i desperatly wanted to fly into EGLL, but i knew i couldnt with that frame rate. so, i redeced traffic down, and now, im getting between around 12 and 18 (trust me, its a lot better). So, i was wandering:

In terms of frame rate, does anyone know if scenery producers like FlyTampa and FSDreamTeam have simular FPS to that of UK2000 with the LHRXTREME2? i want to get more into the scenery than into the traffic now, so, any advice/answers to whether i would be getting simular FPS to what im getting at the moment at Heathrow running the NGX would be very great

Thanks in advance

One big problem with Heathrow is that there are a few other airfields and ariports inthe vacinity that affect the performance when landing at heathrow itself. The other is that if you fly from many airports, 100% traffic may be fine, but thre is so much traffic in and around heathrow that you need to turn it down a bit (New York has the sam issue for some).

I think the uK2000 scenery also includes traffic files which may push some systems a little too hard.

You really need to find and post your system specs so we can tell whether your system is not strong enough or some tweaking and optimisation may be needed (there are several freeware programs that will show your system specs).

Did you pick the options from the UK2000 tool already? Three detail levels to chose from and they make a difference. Find it at UK2000 scenery\UK2000 Heathrow Xtreme, options.exe.

As for the rest, as Ian said. The London area is pretty dense, especially if one has bought the various addons for the UK. Expect the UK2000 version being the lighter one, there also is some older Aerosoft rendition and a version from the VFR Airfields which may be the lightest in terms of fps.

Here's a great overview on the London area addons, their impact and prices. http://www.simflight...te-city-london/

FSDT and FlyTampa a pretty good on the fps so far. The newer their sceneries are, the better they perform. Although FSDT's KDFW isn't very lite. I mean, it's so big, so no surprise. And nice features are also included. I'd say UK2000 is in the same category, EGLL just being in a dense area.

There should be no trouble with Fly Tampa's Vienna or FSDT Geneva if you are looking for some European locations. There's Athens too and the later Aerosoft airports are also good. The older ones are hard on the fps though.

i picked go xtreme. Thats why i was only getting 2 and a half FPS, but now i have reduced traffic, it running smoother.

Ill find my specs in a few hours

I am thinking of getting:

FSDT YVR

anyones LAX

anyones JFK

Mainly North American, may invest in some Pacific/Australian, but, N.A first!

plus i may get UK2000's Cardiff....

If you contact Gary Simmons at UK2000 Scenery forum he will probably agree that the EGLL area has more than enough going on that is likely to effect fps let alone the VC of a NGX aircraft plus your AI program. If you have less than an i7 CPU operating at less than 3.2GHz then you can't expect top performance. Move your sliders to the left a bit and see what happens.

do you know how programmes such as FSDT and FlyTampa compare with the amojnt of FPS that i am now getting ith it (around 15 int, 25 ext)

Don't have any experience with those programs but my feeling is you're expectations are higher than your system is capable of. Might I politely suggest you consider that first.
