GSX vs AES... Do we have a choice?

Featured Replies

and you lose a big one - Baggage loading.. (Although I believe it may be added in an update to AES)

...and someone else might think the baggage loading isn't worth it..

Plus GSX is under live development too, and we might just see them add some of those missing features in a future update. It really isn't an obvious choice.

The second issue I have with GSX is it drops a FSDT AFCAD in every FSDT scenery folder every time it updates. Most of my FSDT AFCADS are adjusted with ADE and I rename them with my naming convention so I know they are the ones I created. I remove the original because I do not want duplicates. Whenever GSX updates, it drops AFCADS back in to all of the FSDT scenery files.

I enjoy using both products. But the issue of FSDT dropping an afcad everytime it updates is annoying. I have take the time and go back a rename my custom afcads. I wish Umberto would remove that feature or give the user an option if they want their acfads updated

Are you referring to GSX or AES here? GSX has the baggage loading, while I stated (or meant) AES may add this in the future.

Thanks

GSX. I'm saying...

GSX is missing jetway control and de-icing services (eg). Some folks (like me) might decide they're not important enough to justify buying AES as well. But since GSX is under live development, we may see these features added later. (I know de-icing is definitely on the roadmap.)

Conversely...

AES is missing baggage handling animations. Some folks might decide that's not important enough to justify buying GSX as well. But since AES is under live development, we may see that feature added later.

Both have features the other is missing, which some people might dismiss as unimportant, but both may still add those features at a later date. Dig?
