PMDG Dash 8/Airbus

Featured Replies

It really is hard for any new user to find answers to some of these simple questions. If rather than carry on like Self Appointed Moderators we actually simply answered the question and left it at that, we could show some of the friendliness and knowledge Avsim is supposed to be about.

Is any of the garbage necessary?

I love these topics because I think PMDG will get eventually tired and will start developing a bus, just to avoid having to read them again. :LMAO:

Hi Jeff,

Dont know about a 707, but i know there is a white tailed A346 in Bn on a defence contract ferrying soldiers all over the place, maybe this is what you saw?

I was in Cairns last week, would have been good to catch up for an Ale!

Could have been , i can only see them when the active runway is 33 , and only a brieff glance (because of trees), i mainly hear them witch is what sparked my interest, it sounded very different, i was thinking 707 maybe dc8, but your probably right. Did you mean an A340 Airbus.

Take care Jeff (sorry if this is inapproaprate)

ARGH.

People talking about a Dash 8 "Q-Series" grinds my gears... Dang you Bombardier Marketing... I don't know how they've played with all our minds over the last 20 years in making us think of a Dash-8 as the 'quiet one'.

The 'Q' was a marketing model-preceding-slang for aircraft equipped with the Active Noise and Vibration Control system. I've never seen an ANVS equipped -100 model. I've never seen a -200 with a working ANVS system (brutal!)...Only saw it once on a -300...where is promptly went into degraded mode after getting it to work on a test flight...sad panda.

Another thing....there is much more than just -100, -200 , and -300 series 8's. There's 102s, 103s, 202, 311, 315s....a whole wack.

I've seen the NVS work quite a bit on our 200's and 300's. I've also seen it MEL'd or in degraded mode quite a bit too. B) That being said, whether it works or not I don't really care as my ANR headset makes it nice and quiet either way. The only time I care is when we're deadheading, then I just sport ear plugs.

I really hope PMDG does the Dash, or finishes what they have announced. They would do a really nice job.

Dan
