DX10 making screenshots in full screen mode

Featured Replies

There is a problem to make screenshots running FSX in DX10 full screen mode:

"MS paint" shows after snap shot application only a black picture.

In DX10 windowed mode everything works fine.

(Making screenshots in DX9 windowed and full screen mode is ok).

Any idea to resolve this?

You've got to use a utility like FRAPS for that, I believe.

The "V" key works for me in Dx9 and Dx10. The screenshots will appear in your Windows photo gallery as bmps. I then use Irfanview (freeware util) to resize and convert them to jpegs.

The "V" key works perfect. I´m doing the pic conversion or add. illustrations with the already existing MS paint easily.

Thanks a lot.

Thanks for this. I was also looking for a quick solution.

AMD 7800X3D, 64GB 6000MHz CL30, INNO3D RTX 4080, Windows 11.

Yup. "V" works as fast as you can push it. All mine are done that way, and then I use the batch conversion function of Paint Shop Pro X4 to push them into jpegs.

Well - I purchased Fraps a year ago, and found it to be a pita to use for anything: finnicky, with an interface that is not intuitive.

Yes - see post #6 above.

All the best,

I'm not sure whether or not SweetFX has something to do with it, but all my "V" screenshots get jagged aircraft shadows on the ground (AA completely disabled within SweetFX), even though it looks great during the simulation. Looks like the AA is post-processed on the fly, but when the screenshot is taken it doesn't register the AA. It does register the SweetFX effects though, and I'm using DX10 with the Fixer.
