October 28, 201213 yr Author Oh the TBM 850.... It will: 1.) look incredible. That is a given.. 2.) Fly incredible. I hope so. Please, not another C90B dud 3.) have the C182T G1000 suit. That's fine. I have enough planes with "systems". And that will be absolutely fine. No one.. NO ONE... has made a true G1000. NO ONE. Isn't the G1000 in the F1 Citation Mustang pretty good? MOST EVERYONE has made a G1000 that is 1000% better then the MS G1000. This is true The only way a real G1000 will be made, is if it's an add-on like Reality XP, and runs outside of FSX. Seeing how so many people hit buy for 50+ bucks for RXP, maybe there is a biz-ness opportunity for a Reality G1000. I'd buy that.. So... Hell yea I'm buying this plane!!!!!!! Me too  Chris Magnus HR Manager Air Jamaica Virtual Airlines and Cargo (http://www.airjamaicavirtualairlinesandcargo.org)
October 28, 201213 yr 3.) have the C182T G1000 suit. And that will be absolutely fine. No one.. NO ONE... has made a true G1000. NO ONE. And if it's good enough for you, then you're right. It will be absolutely fine - for you. Nothing wrong with that. Earlier in this thread some of us mentioned some of the things we hope to see in the TBM's G1000 implementation and I hope many of them are included. If so, it will be absolutely fine for me as well, and I expect we'll both be happy. :-) No, I don't expect anyone do do the whole enchilada, but I'd sure rather see something closer to what another developer has already done several years previously or even push the envelope on that a bit as I expect that developer may well do with their next release. Hey, if we don't let developers know what we want, there's little chance we'll get it. Scott
October 28, 201213 yr Hey, if we don't let developers know what we want, there's little chance we'll get it. Excellent post TT. My thing is, I wont let a not so fully functional G1000 get in the way. We all know what Carenado's deal is. Having said that, I'm kinda hoping someone like MilViz, PMDG, or Flight1 will take up the TBM850. I think there is enough excitement for this bird to warrant the kind of King Air type explosion! ... And don't get me started on the Piper Seneca V with G600's...

Carenado has released another plane Bad news, its not the TBM.......oh well A PMDG TBM850 would be epic but I don't see that happening. RealAir on the other hand...... October 31, 201213 yr RealAir doesn't do glass so they'd have to do an earlier TBM700 which would still be awesome... Lee
October 31, 201213 yr Author RealAir doesn't do glass so they'd have to do an earlier TBM700 which would still be awesome... Lee There's first time for everything although I do agree it would be awesome, as are all their planes. November 1, 201213 yr I can do a RealAir steam TBM... at least everything would work! AFAIK, most all the TBM's had some glass. Carenado is "Capital Gaining It Up" with a bunch of FS2004 converts. I wonder if they are having some issues with manufacture permissions, as both the SR22 and TBM are long in development.

Well, they just released the C337 for X-Plane which was next on their "incoming projects" page so they will probably release the SR22 next and the TBM hopefully for Christmas. November 6, 201213 yr Look at my call sign and you will understand I am addicted to this plane. I have been following it's progress since 1988 when I saw it on the cover of flying magazine http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTYwMFgxNDcw/$(KGrHqR,!oUE63(fpyCzBQHpUR(TOw~~60_12.JPG and again in December 1989 http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/OTUzWDc0NQ==/$T2eC16JHJGoE9nuQeW31BQK7MwHUe!~~60_3.JPG. I got my PPL in the summer of 1989 and dreamed about flying this plane! Got my CPL, M.E., IFR in fall 2006, and still dreamed about flying this plane! Well nothing has changed 6 years later! if I cannot fly this in real life at least I am happy to know I can fly a realistic model (hopefully) on FSX.
November 7, 201213 yr TBM850, being a RW pilot, you know a big part of it is hanger time... I've been in dream planes simply because we knew someone on the line! Ya need to scope a new airport with a TBM on the lot... and make some new friends! :good: The other option is to save up some money, and take TBM lessons down at their USA base in Fla (SimCom). I too am a big fan of the plane, but having met some of the TBM reps... well they almost ruined it for me... to the point that I'd probably rather have a Meridian if I had the money.
November 9, 201213 yr Hey there HawkDsl, thanks for the words of wisdom and encouragement! I am curious as to the problems you had with the TBM reps. Feel free to PM me as I am highly interested in knowing. Yeah my total time has not budged since getting my CPL, M.E., IFR in 1996 (I wrote 2006 by mistake on my previous post). Tried hard to make contacts back in those days to get my first flying gig but nothing panned out! I should have built my time as an instructor but could not afford the lousy salary! I am pushing my mid forties so it is basically game over for me, unless money starts growing in my back yard lol! Why didn't I think of creating facebook or Google lol! Love the Meridian as well, but slower and less payload, but perfect for those who only need to fly shorter ranges, and for about $1,3 million bucks less, it certainly something to think about.
November 10, 201213 yr Well... let's just say... they looked me over, and assumed I didn't have 4 million dollars... so they didn't have time for my enthusiasm. I'm sure that if I had made an appointment at the Fla HQ to speak about "real" interest in the TBM, it would have been completely different. No biggie... I get it.. but other manufactures I've met weren't so "cold". Piper for example, sent me an invitation to tour the plant this past summer... even having made it clear I wasn't in the market (or in that tax bracket, LOL)! My mission would be east coast trips (USA), ferrying family to the Outer Banks from GA, SC, and VA. The Piper would be perfect (or a Baron). A TBM would allow vacations to just about anywhere though. The main concern being bathroom breaks, LOL. TBM could cover some serious miles between them, and make that a better choice. Then again.. the ultimate "money not an issue" ride would be the Avanti P-180 II... But that would start to limit your field choices (I like the Garmin better then the ProLine.. and the Avanti has an UGLY panel compared to the Piper and TBM). The TBM and the Piper are perfect family planes.
November 11, 201213 yr Author the Avanti has an UGLY panel compared to the Piper and TBM) If money were not an issue for me, I'd get the Avanti and change the panel to something else, something along the lines of the G1000, maybe the G3000. Oh to be wealthy..... Chris Magnus HR Manager Air Jamaica Virtual Airlines and Cargo (http://www.airjamaicavirtualairlinesandcargo.org)
November 12, 201213 yr Oh to be wealthy..... LOL, Indeed! I've made some serious promises to the God's, if they would "invest" with me ... :Waiting:
November 13, 201213 yr Well... let's just say... they looked me over, and assumed I didn't have 4 million dollars... so they didn't have time for my enthusiasm Thanks for sharing that with me HawkDSL! Not classy on their part! I am glad to hear that the folks at Piper were more gracious. And yes one drawback of being capable of staying airborne for 4 to 5 hours is foregoing a potty break and some leg stretching, especially if you are single pilot! When you look at it that way the Meridian makes more sense.
