July 8, 200421 yr hmmm, ok, I feel like an idiot. I downloaded, ran the installer, but.... where does it get installed to? Can't find it anywhere.
July 8, 200421 yr Commercial Member I can't help on the shutdown issue, but looking through the thread made me smile at the thought of my old MD80 & 87 panels still being edited and released over and again :-) Just wish I could remember actually giving permission to everyone that's seeingly released this panel in their own name :-( That doesn't apply to Leon who did have the good manners to ask first.Time to do this aircraft the justice it deserves.....don't you think? :-)http://www.blandreynolds.btinternet.co.uk/DF_PG_sm.gif Cheers Paul Golding
July 8, 200421 yr Mr. Paul Golding:I don't really understand you message, but I am answering to let you know that you have all my respect and that my FS2002 has many of your panels operating.Best Regards,Leo
July 8, 200421 yr Paul,Absolutely, this aircraft has been neglected for quite some time. Are you planning to update your great MD panels for FS2004? I see JetCity Aircraft is releasing the MD series soon. Your panels would go great with these. What do you think?Dave Vega dv Win 10 Pro || i7-8700K || 32GB || ASUS Z370-P MB || NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11Gb || 2 960 PRO 1TB, 840 EVO My Files in the AVSIM Library
July 8, 200421 yr I would second that! :)I think that Douglas / MD have lost out in the panel designs for FS9, excepting of course Paul's excellent panel (revised) and the iron knuckles DC-9. I believe that the MD-80 series do have FMC-equipped panels, although it seems that there are many variations on the MD-80 series- presumably depending on when the various variants were built? I got to visit with a Midwest Express flight crew in their MD-80 cockpit prior to take-off recently, as was surprised by the apparent automation (FMC, glass instruments on the captain's side), but also by the number of steam gauges on both sides of the panel. This aircraft must have truly been right in the transition between steam and glass.I guess these aircraft are getting a little old now, buy today's standards at least. There's no comparing a B73NG or A320 to them, although an MD-90 may be a closer comparison maybe? But there are still a lot of MD-80's in the air. I wish I had the skills to do a fully blown panel project with FMC, etc. for these birds.Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
July 8, 200421 yr The installer also installs an aircraft (SGA MD-80), and will appear in your Aircraft folder as a folder named "SGA MD83".Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
July 8, 200421 yr I use that panel too, I've narrowed it down to the center tank(s) running dry during a flight. Best solution I've found is good old fashioned fuel management, plan your fuel for the distance and shut off the center tanks before they run dry.
July 9, 200421 yr ED, have you ever released your panels? Every shot you've posted causes my jaw to hit the keyboard? Is it possible to get a copy of that MD 80 panel? Thanks RJ..

Every shot you've>posted causes my jaw to hit the keyboard?>>Is it possible to get a copy of that MD 80 panel?>>Thanks RJ..>I have not these panels because they use other peoples gauges....I have started to replace them (the engine/oil gauges in the first shot are made by me) I may still keep Samuli's autopilot (if I can get permission from him...he seems to be hard to get hold of) I would also like to make the overhead completely photoreal....it's gonna take some time. :(http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/83339.jpg[email protected] My FS Videos
July 9, 200421 yr Thanks for the response ED... Your are truely a master of panel editing/design. Keep up the great work and I hope someday I'll be flying your works...All the best.... RJ
