Level-D 767 How Good?

Featured Replies

Hello to all. I know that the LevelD 767 is systems wise the best, but how does it compare to the CS? What is on the LevelD that isn't on the CS? Also, how graphically dated is the LevelD? Further, is there any option to change the cockpit config of either? The NGX has spoiled me  . Thanks!

Very dated graphically with a flat VC. But it should not detract from the fact that it's still an excellent add-on 7 years on. Oh and there is a mild cosmetic update for the VC which makes things more legible I think.

the LD 767 has issues with the 300+ NVIDIA drivers. the "solution" was to disable the hi-res cockpit option

It flies great basically. All the rest is just crap compared to CS767 - Sound, graphics, (and even systems aren't that superior) to justify the crown anymore.

Can we please not go in to the LDS vs CS debate!!! Please

On topic (which is about the LDS)

Basically the LDS systems are great (PMDG standard *gasp*)

Graphically it's very dated, the vc is flat even with the free upgrade it's still not very nice by today's standards.

Sounds are fine and flight dynamics are also very good.

I would love a 767 that looks like the CS and has the systems of the LDS.

Cheers

Thanks for all the help, guys. What does the CS lack (specifically) versus the LDS systems wise?

Well systems might not be superior but still better than in CS 767.

Also sounds are totally horrible on both CS 767 and Level D 767, I wouldn't fly neither of them without TSS soundpack.

Only area where Level D loses is graphics (though in my opinion Level D cockpit gauges look better than CS ones).

And this said they are both great addons and I have had a lot of fun time with CS 767-200 and Level D 767-300, I don't want to bash either of them.

The Level D may be a bit dated but that doesn't bother me for some reason. It seems to fly beautifully. It goes where it's supposed to and takeoffs and landings are easily executed just right. It somehow feels more real than the CS to me. The Level D might be a bit dated but if you already have some of the other CS 7- series I'd go with the Level D...it's a true classic with far superior flight dynamics. The price is a bit high though for a 7 year old addon!

The Level D 767 is the ONLY aircraft I fly in FSX and have for a long time. The systems are excellent and yes the graphics in the VC are dated, that does not bother me since I fly it in 2D panel mode. The handling flight characteristics are super. I don't own the CS767 and if I did would not do another comparison rant.

When one looks at the 2D panel the gauges are nothing less than stunning IMHO. When someone wants a stable will working aircraft with no bugs in FSX this one will always do the job.

Can't say enough good things about it. Now off to go fly it today
