New Ariane Release !

It's funny how so many people can't spell "Ariane" - they must know the company like the palm of their hand;) On the other hand, I don't, and I won't join in:7

I bought the plane a couple of days ago.: $120.00 (approx.) Canadian. No 2D panel. One livery. You can look on the site for the many features of this plane including pushback and ground power vehicles. Controls for the airstairs, icing on the windows and some other novelties. I tried the icing feature and its great. Leave it sit on the cold tarmac the windows will start freezing up until they're completely frosted over. Turn on the window heat and they'll clear up slowly. What about the VC? Lacks the crispness of graphics one would expect from a product of this cost. Blurry text which is particularly annoying on the overhead panel. When using the switches there's a lack of "feel" to them. Maybe a sound should be associated with them but when I click a switch in PMDG's overhead for example it feels smooth and responsive. This is lacking in Ariane's product.Almost all systems are modeled including the IRS on the overhead. Nice sound associated with the APU. My major problem is those weak graphics though. I'm wondering if I couldn't just change the resolution by hand in the VC itself if that would help to say 1024x1024. Maybe somebody could help there. I have the VC graphics set to the highest in FS9 as well. Otherwise cold and dark startup is the usual.I like the lighting in Ariane's 737 better than PMDG's. Different lighting effects and particularly those colorful light switches. The FMC is ok. I've always preferred Dreamfleet's 737 FMC and tend to compare everything to it. But PMDG's and Ariane's are both capable FMCs. You can load up a FS9 flightplane right into Ariane's. I'm still having some difficulties with programming it though but those should be overcome. The plane taxi's very smoothly. It flies even better. Very smooth and fluid. I like the robust sounds inside the plane while taking off - really gives you the sense of taking off. My major problem now is that the Autopilot isn't engaging. I press AP VNAV and LNAV but the AP won't engage. I don't know what the problem is. Must be missing something here and I've flown Dreamfleet's and PMDG's 737 (all the series they have) without ever encountering this problem. No passenger cabin of course.Nicely modeled plane outside relatively speaking the same as PMDG's maybe a bit better in terms of detail. This is a "layman's" review. Having flown the flight simulator series since Bruce Artwick's flight simulator I've flown and bought numerous planes.Value: Poor value for what you get. One livery and blurry graphics in the VC particularly disturbing with respect to the overhead (C- my grade). Some nice features noted above. What would make this a better package. Come on Ariane. Open up the liveries. For $120 Canadian even buying the liveries with PSS products I get their A330-340 plus the full livery set for about the same price. So if you're going to sell liveries package them like PSS does so when I pay $120 Canadian I get more than 1 bloody plane with blurry VC graphics. This product would have potential if some of the issues I've noted above were addressed. Otherwise, if this is the way Ariane does business then it will be the last product I buy from them.

aloha everyone.there are about 172 posts on this ariane thread. i have an idea. why don't we all pitch in $1.00 (which will be more than enough money) to purchase the product. we can either give it to avsim to review it or vote for someone in this thread to review it for us. this way everyone will get a better idea of how ariane's product stacks up.i think it's better than hearing it from other people from another forum and keep things here at home. just a thought.
