Hey Braun. Nothing like a good heated thread to bring us all out of the woodwork. I just stepped in to support a fellow flight sim veteran Mike T. Just passing through. How have you been? Hope you're keeping the blue side up.By the way, since I have nothing but money to burn I went ahead and purchased the 737ng VCe just to see what all the fuss was about. I will support most efforts to keep this community solvent. I've been trying to complete the download for the past few hours. Either they're getting hammered or just a slow connection. I have broadband and it should be fast. I'll get back to you soon on my finding. Of course I am a RW pilot but I don't fly big iron. Does that count?Cheers!

Hey Paul!!!Good to see ya, long time no "see" :-) What are you putting those marvelous talents to now-a-days?Best regards,Mike T. (or is it PT? :-) )

"You actually believe that picture? "Yeah, you bet I do. .:-beerchug Greg

Mike,Exactly my point!!!! PMDG 'groupies' like to quicky discount the importance of IRS integration that in reality drives the ADI, rate of climb indicator, groundspeed readout, wind direction and speed readout, yaw damper, in addition to position information. I'm glad to see real airline pilots such as yourself point this out to the woefully uninformed amongst us.A realistic airline sim is simply not complete without IRS functionality; other sim developers have accomplished this but PMDG continues to remain behind the pack. Wilco's 767 Pilot in Command add-on for FS2000/FS2002 modeled all integrated functions of a modern IRS system, including failure capability. It's amazing to contrast an 'old' sim like 767PIC to new ones like PMDG. Sometimes a new product can take one step forward and two steps back. :)

"Hey There Wacko Ken Jacko!"Hi Ken. I'd forgotten about Simon's monicker for you. Hope you're still wearing it like a badge of honor. :-) Greg

Stefan Hilmersby's AWESOME DC-9 panel for FS9 has icing!!! So this is REALLY nothing new to the FS world

Sure, I'm still wearing that badge of honor. Still a strong advocate of the flight sim community as a whole and standing tall. We are all family here. Each and every one of us who are dedicated to this thing.Cheers Greg,

Good that you'll be offering buyers yout perspective.Hey... 100 posts and still no lock! Do I hear 150, 150, can anybody give me 150?Cheers all,Greg

I'd like to know on what planet you can buy a P3 1.8ghz.. :-eek Wow $90 for 1 model & flight system. For that could get a 120gb HD. And fill it up with all kinds of great Freeware! ;)

I'm on it!

Hello guys,Just a quick note. The IRS affects so many systems in the aircraft, that it's really a shame PMDG didn't get it done to this day. In addition to all the automated flight and navigation information, IRS has a role in other systems as well, braking system for one. While PMDG didn't get it done, I have serious doubts that Ariane has REALLY created a functional IRS with system linkages to things there should be and so forth. To just quickly discount the importance of it is, as I have said in PMDG forum many times, like saying you don't need a lighter or matches to light up a cigarette. Sure, it burns well after it's lit up, but the entire smoking depends on something to light up the cigarette. It's vital.nuf saidTero

Who said that PMDG was NOT going to implement a IRS system into the 800-900 NG down the road? I already know about some cool FMC changes coming shortly that will be a welcomed edition this the NG. If you purchased the NG 800-900 package, you can expect some updates for free, the full list of things to come is not yet set but certainly everyone I know desires a fully working IRS on the NG, I have talked about a working weather radar too but it's too early to tell what will be implemented. As for us PMDGites making lite of the IRS system, I am not making lite of it I'm just explaining it's place in a home simulator. Lest anyone forget, this NG was PMDG's first attempt developing for flight simulator, many things needed to be learned, I think their record has proved that they are serious about quality and enhancements so let's see what the future has in store ;-)Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J.
