As an avid FMC user I was VERY disappointed to see- NO HOLD page modelled - NO FIX PAGE- NO PROGRESS PAGE (#####???)These 3 are vital in the NG, but Ariane instead decides to modell some dumb contrails functions etc...oh but Ariane was kind enough to mention that these FMC short comings will be included in the Ops (?) version, due spring 2005. For Christs sake...

OK, its not a toy, I too like to have a good FMS/FMC. But there are many out there. Whereas icing windsreens are revolutionary. Something, whi has never be done before and something many, many simmers were waiting for. And now, once it was done by Arianae, other designers will try it too. My comment was in relation to pilots can and do check their wings in situations like that, by either looking back or opening up the cockpit window to get a better view. I'll never forget that blizzard--it took seven long hours and several attempts at getting to the runway before we could get in the air--I arrived at my client's site in Ottawa seven hours late, at 3am...-John

Wolfko,This feature was implemented in Stellan Himerby's DC-9 cockpit a long time ago, probably released a year ago.
